I did the line today and here's a post about my experience: https://www.reddit.com/r/hamiltonmusical/comments/5cppxj/doing_the_cancellation_line_for_chris_jacksons/
Multiple people spent the night there so we ended up not getting tickets but I did get to meet Chris Jackson before he entered the theater!
Also, if any of you need a line sitter I will be going next week and in the future so PM me and we'll work something out :)

-Well I'm having trouble posting a pic from my phone, sorry!
Thank you so much and thanks for trying to share your photo.
Here is mine from when I last saw him in July. His mic malfunctioned that night in "Non-Stop" when he comes in to sing "They are asking me to lead". It was terrible. And I remember looking across the bridge and seeing Renee just stare at Chris and then hold in a gasping giggle. Chris' voice had all treble and no bass. I'm blessed to have been able to see him as Washington 5 out of 6 times. He remains my favorite cast member. And super sweet to fans.
Clearing my head, walking 4 miles from the hospital passed the Richard Rodgers Theater, not a soul in line.
Great picture of you and Chris! Hope your mom is doing better! Xo

when I read this, my natural reaction was "OH! I wonder which photo of me and Chris I posted?" thinking in my mind CHRIS, my husband. Chris is his actual name. I forgot you meant Chris the actor, ha!
I'm too tired! I think I'm getting delirium from being in the hospital with mom...need some BROADWAY SOON!!!!
Any reports on the last 3 days? I plan on going in a couple of months on a weekday, are weekdays less crowded? How much should I anticipate spending on 4 tickets? Thanks to all in this thread.

"When i went they were $177 a piece, now they're $199. Four people is going to cost a little under $800

Quick report from my trip. My wife and I flew up to NYC just to see Hamilton. Took a taxi directly to the cancellation line from the airport on Tuesday and we were the 9th and 10th people in line at 1:00 PM. We got tickets at about 6:15. There were a LOT of tickets that day, probably 25 or so, sold to the cancellation line. People who got in line at 5:45 for the 7:00 show ended up getting in.
Saw Javier as Hamilton.
So the next day we happened to be in the area trying to figure out what matinee to go see and we saw that there were about 20 people in the cancellation line and figured "what the hell, let's wait". So we waited and ended up getting the last two tickets (actual cancelled tickets) just a few minutes after 2:00.
Saw Michael as Hamilton.
Definitely spent more money than anticipated, but the show was amazing both times and it exceeded every expectation we had. So, if you can get there on a weekday I think you're likely to have better chances as there were at least 20+ tickets sold to the cancellation line on both Tuesday and Wed. matinee. Though this was also the first two shows after Chris Jackson left, so any VIPs who wanted to see him came last week - which is likely why they had so many tickets for these performances.

Thursday was a different story. Only 8 people got in.

I wonder how many people got in last night (Friday night)? Vice President Elect Mike Pence was in the audience (looks like his seats may have been the same seats often awarded to people in the Hamilton cancellation line).

I did the line this Saturday with a friend, we got there at 6:15 AM and there were about 12 people ahead of us. Three premium tickets were offered and the three people behind us got those, at 2 PM they started calling in people and the first 8 people or so got standard tickets. At 2:05 PM they said they had 10 standing room available which the people in front of us, my friend and i, and three people behind us got.

I did cancelation line Sunday (Anthony's last day). The first two people were there around 5:30PM Saturday, third (me) around 8:00PM, fourth and fifth around 11:30PM/12:00AM. After that it was line sitters around 2-3AM and a mom and her daughters around 4AM. I have no idea how many people were there after that or when they arrived. The line was down to stage door, though. Line sitters took I think 4 premium and left relatively early. Standard tickets ($199) started to be offered around 2:45PM for the 3:00PM show. I got mine around 2:55PM. 5 standard tickets were offered.
Note since this is a holiday week, regular priced cancellation tickets that used to be $199 are now $239! Just an FYI if you guys go this week.
What if I get my wife to wait in line with me? Can my stepdaughter give her a few hours rest by substituting?

The answer used to be NO. There were rules posted (no line swapping, no tents & chairs allowed). But those rules were torn down & removed. you shouldn't have a problem subbing in line.

I'm a bit confused ...are the rules pretty much not enforced about being able to swap? They were so strict about it before- with photos and lists, etc. Thanks for any info/tips on the theatre's currently policies (if they exist)
I'm not sure if I have as much stamina to wait as long now that the cold weather is setting in...After waiting over 14 hours last time I was really frozen by the time I got into the RRT - and it ended up being standing room.

I waited in line 15 1/2 hours two fridays ago. I was 5th in line, arrived at 430am (Chris Jackson's final wknd). I was surprised that the rules previously posted were gone. I asked one of the Hamilton employees what happened to it...he said it was torn down. No one enforced previously stated rules (such as no chairs). People in the cancellation line frequently left the line to get food, find a restroom, etc. although no one toward the front of the line swapped with anyone else, I don't think it would have mattered if they did...since those previous strict rules were no longer posted.

I've seen some people on here offering a deal, to take people as their plus one in exchange for paying part of their ticket - how early are these things arranged? I will be in town late January and I'd really like to do something like this. I can pay part of/all of your ticket if you take me as your plus one, for the house or SRO tickets. I love this show with all my heart but I have extremely limited time in NYC (And am travelling internationally) so I can't really do the line myself.
Depressing, I was hoping to spend the day in line with theater fans not payed cronies.

If you're talking to me, I'm pretty sure anyone willing to wait in line and trade the plus one ticket for their ticket being paid is a pretty big fan. It's an arrangement people have been doing repeatedly on this board and allows someone who otherwise couldn't pay $200 for a ticket to see the show. And I don't think any of the people who have already done this sort of thing would appreciate being called "payed cronies" for seeing a show they are very clearly huge fans of.
