Been trying so hard to get into this show, but that did absolutely nothing for me.

Loved it but I wish they sang "My Shot" instead.

I thought they did a great job! I'm done with the Grammy's altho I did enjoy the Lionel Richie and Maurice White (of Earth, Wind and Fire) tributes earlier
I understand the opening number is like fun and all, but it would've been a million times better if they chose the room where it happens of satusfied or even burn.

Like fun and all.
The tempo seemed slow, probably for lyrical ar-tic-u-lation.
I have never heard any of Hamilton. I've entered the lottery everyday since it opened. Still trying to get a ticket. I have to say the bit on the Grammy's didn't really do much for me at all. OF course, I am sure the show as a whole will live up to expectations, but that opening number did very little to pique my interest. But they don't really need to sell anymore tickets so I guess it doesn't really make a difference one way or the other.
People are saying it was slow. I really couldn't understand much of what they were saying.

Song was too slow. Would have preferred something more upbeat and intense. Not that it really matters...
So did they win the cast album award?
I think most of the television audience is still scratching their heads. If this was supposed to be an introduction to Hamilton, it didn't register. To us, the converted, it was nice. Nothing more, nothing less.
yeah the opening number was a strange pick. ALSO, THEY JUST ANNOUNCED HAMILTON WINNING THE GRAMMY LIVE ON TV? very strange since they only show like 10 awards during the broadcast. CONGRATS TO HAMILTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It did seem a bit slow. But, like others, I think they could have picked a better song for those not familiar with the show. Maybe this was one way to showcase the entire cast (with the exception of Groff).
HAHAHA. This whole thing makes me laugh. They would never broadcast this award if it wasn't for Hamilton. Nice seeing Fun Home and The King and I though.

I thin there were two good reasons for picking this number to perform -- (1) it introduces the story and therefore needs n o explanation. and (2) it has the whole cast (almost) on stage

I'm sure Michael Riedel is laughing his ass of right now at that performance. lol
What a shock. I was on pins and needles when they read the nominees.
I just hope this paves the way for future Broadway performances during the Grammy's.
it wasn't a bad performance it was just a strange choice for these awards. Schuyler Sisters should have been performed.
I love that Broadway had this amazing platform and recognition.

Do not hold your breath waiting for the cast album award to be televised any time in near or far future.
The website is down, so it did do something.
Some of You guys are pretty funny...complaining about a performance (any performance) of a Broadway musical on the Grammys. How many times has that happened...about a half dozen? And the winner got announced live. Be happy.
Another number from the show will probably be performed during the Tony Awards broadcast.
I think they should have given them the time to SATISFIED since they did this whole live feed thing. And yes ebon, he rapped the acceptance speech. Don't think the opening was a good choice. JMO
A friend of mine who was there tonight says it was filmed hours ago and they ran it a number of times. So I guess it wasn't actually a "live" performance...?
