Off the top of my head, you will miss two "show-stopper" effects that take place out in the house (as opposed to on the stage). Note, however, that "miss" is not really the right word; you can still catch them if you twist around in your seat to look at what's behind you; you just have to know when to look."

Just remember to look behind you near the end of Part 1, and in Part 2 when they start talking about a prophecy.

Is anyone else going to the shows on Halloween and if so do you plan on dressing up?? My partner and I have tickets for October 31st and we're considering going in potter wear.

Thanks Greg!!! So fun fact.... I'm so disappointed in myself. I DID NOT PUT 2 AND 2 TOGETHER THAT I WAS GOING ON THE FIRST DAY OF HOGWARTS!!! ****walks away in my Slytherin robes hanging head in shame**** (to be fair... I've had a chaotic 6 weeks in and out of work!) But grateful to you for bringing that to my attention, excitement level just went up! :)

Definitely go in Potter wear! Some people go dressed up on a normal show day, I imagine Halloween would be super extra and amazing to see!! Hope this helps! :)

There is some kind of room under and when they come up they are only submerged for a few seconds

Is there a Cursed Child Spoiler thread? That actually may be really fun for those of us who have seen it to have a space where we can freely talk about any aspect of the show we want and relive the magic!

I'm kinda sad they didn't do anything special for September 1st. For the past two September 1st in London, they've held off sale and then did a lottery like 400 tickets for £40 or something like that.

They held it off sale on Broadway for a bit but it's on sale now. There were some Actor's Fund tickets (which were a steal, actually) but those are sold out.

For those who have gone to the box office to purchase a ticket, have they been more flexible in your ticket request? Like if I asked if there was a prime ticket in the front orchestra? Or will they not let a patron be as choosy?

The box office has better access to seat locations. So you could probably pick specific areas of the theater. Whether or not there is any availability is a different story.

I read your reply with particular interest for Saturday, Sept 29th.    Tickets for both parts on Saturday seem to be in high demand on Ticketmaster with only Prime (@$199/part) and Premium (@$325/part) available.   

Does your advice to wait apply to Saturday shows where more vacationing theater goers are likely to want to see both parts in one day?

I don't know if I should just bite the bullet or wait for these 20/40/80 tickets - or something close to that range.

My prediction is that in September and October, it may become easier again to get extremely last minute $20/$40/$80 tickets, which is what was happening through all of March, April, and May, but has since stopped. I would imagine that with the holidays, they'll drop that system again in November, and go back to the current system.

My recommendation would be to hold off for a bit, but probably buy the tickets in the fall. Even if you buy a seat at $160 or $180 each, the best deal you're likely to get in December is $130. At the end of the day, that's a small price to pay for some peace of mind.

(Side note - if you have any colleagues in NYC, I really recommend buying directly from the box office. A few of the times I've seen the show, I've scoped out tickets (religiously) online, and then gone to the Box Office. The price range is always the same, but they always offer me better seats than Ticketmaster gives me. Like 3rd row mezz at $180 instead of the 8th row that was available on Ticketmaster.)

Just saw show first time last night and must see this again!  A couple questions . . .

1.  I'm seeing all these posts about specific seat availability for dates.  Is there some way to easily check dates and what is available specifically?  I just see you able to choose a time and price and it gives you seats rather than show you what is open.  (So - basically curious how those who post things such as "entire row D open on this date" can figure that out short of doing search after search and piecing it together).

2.  After spending face value for Row D orchestra - I can't do that again - especially since I want to take my kids this time.  I've seen some posts about being able to find $20/$40 tickets much closer in to performance date.  How have people found best way or time to do this.   I work in NYC so easy to go to BO - was thinking in fall after summer will likely have more availability than now but will seats at that price level actually open up and is there a way to have BO search other than asking individual date by individual day (would love to be able to go and say "are any $40 seats available for anything in next two months" without having to do 60 searches.

Any advice appreciated!

They don’t have the $40 or $20 tickets anymore, not online at least. They went away after it won the Tony? I could be wrong though. I looked for later in the year a while back and saw it available for some dates, but when I looked recently I couldn’t find any. I also noticed that this week and some upcoming dates the $80 tickets were raised to $95.

So I guess the only cheap way to see the show again is to just try the lottery? Curious if someone has stopped by the box office and asked for the $20/$40 tickets though.

Based on the marketing, nothing has changed with the $40/$20 tickets available for each performance.  But yes - they're likely all sold out online and the odds of randomly searching a date and finding the tickets seems very small.  I've heard some anecdotes about people still getting them at the BO recently but not sure if this was complete random luck or if there was some method to the madness of finding them. 

I do notice a change to the website where it used to show the $40/$20 in the drop down box (but always sold out) those don't even show up at all.  But as noted - they're still publicizing that there are 300 tickets per performance at $40 or $20.

If anyone has any other insights - let me know!

Yeah they don’t have the 20 or 40 per part option at all anymore...and the 80 part went up to 95 within a week so...that’s great. And by great, I mean NOT :/ 20 per part is only a lottery option now.
