Posted: 8/30/14 at 5:24pmI went to TKTS last week to see what they were offering. They had Orchestra seats all the way over...Partial view for $99.. No thank you.

Posted: 8/30/14 at 7:02pmMaybe an 8:30pm curtain on Saturdays? I agree, this show shouldn't have a Sunday matinee. To have 7 shows a week, their schedule should be Sun, Mon & Tue @ 7pm, Thur & Fri @ 8pm & Saturdays @ 4pm & 8:30pm.

Posted: 9/5/14 at 3:11pmSeems they have updated the schedule past Andrew's run to 7 shows a week. It is Sun at 3, Tue-Fri at 8, then Sat at 2&8.

Posted: 9/5/14 at 3:20pmPerhaps for some people it's the only time they can go to a show.

Posted: 9/5/14 at 3:23pmThe 2 PM Sat. slot will be a real snoozefest. Hedwig is not a matinee crowd type of show at all. I've been on a Sunday and it was not a good experience.
#282Hedwig's future
Posted: 9/5/14 at 3:25pmI wouldn't go to matinee of this show, but I'm just saying a variety in show times is a good thing.
#283Hedwig's future
Posted: 9/5/14 at 3:28pmI think they need to recognize their market. The bluehairs and families who populate the Sat. matinee performances won't want to see this.

I'm with Sutton on this one. Aberrational performance times (like the 10pm Saturday) are fun, but without an NPH who pretty much guaranteed them selling out whatever performance schedule they played, those atypical performances tend to languish. I could see them ditching the Sunday matinee at certain times of year and switching to a Monday-Saturday schedule a la Phantom (and Rent at one time), but otherwise, playing a traditional schedule -- while maybe not make for quite as fun audiences -- makes a fair amount of sense from a ticket-selling perspective.

Posted: 9/6/14 at 3:47pmI think the reason they may be doing it is for the actor in the role of Hedwig. I still think matinees of any kind for this show are ill-advised and I will avoid them like the plague. (Last thing I want is a bunch of blue hairs or worse yet the teenie bopper set. I wonder if Nick Jonas or Darren Criss is coming and they thought it would make the show a 'family affair' so they should add the mat. on Sat.)

Posted: 9/6/14 at 4:07pmI'm really sick of the casual dismissal of old audiences with lines like "blue hairs." I'm a big fan of great theater and I hope to still be attending as long as I live. Of course, that probably won't include Broadway very often because I am a fan of *great* theater.

Well then you can go to the lovely mats and enjoy their company. People complain about the young people-but the vast majority of issues I've had are with elderly patrons. They forget to turn their cell phones off (or 'don't know how'), they talk incessantly, and I've even had them singing when it wasn't appropriate.

Great theater is happening on Broadway right now, as it has forever.
Older patrons have always been fine in my experience as long as they can hear. I hate when people ask the person they are with "WHAT DID THEY SAY??". Other than that, it's all good. Except tweens. Tweens should go play elsewhere.

Posted: 9/6/14 at 4:18pmI honestly have had less problems with the tweens. I've had cell phones go off (and the person was aware it was-and it kept happening), the "What did you say?" comment, candy wrappers, singing. I avoid the mats like the plague.

Posted: 9/6/14 at 4:27pmThat's probably a good plan. Those people who cause you problems might have been going to the theater for 50 or 60 years.

Well I would hope they'd learn how to act. Maybe I go in expecting too much.
Back on topic, the show is best viewed at night.

Posted: 9/6/14 at 4:41pmYou aren't expecting too much. If they can't act correctly, they shouldn't go to the theater. Regardless of age.

Posted: 9/6/14 at 10:59pmI have experianced problems most with Old people- which is suprising. Many forget to turn off their phones and ask "What just happened/What he say?" even asking me these questions. It is pretty annoying, but alot of times they are sweet little old ladies who are very nice otherwise and fun to talk with during intermission. I remember once during Follies in L.A, This old couple next to me were talking thru half of Elaine's "I'm Still Here' about how Liza should be signing it instead and the like. It was really distracting. Hedwig dose not seem like the kinda show to see during the day/the afternoon at all.

Posted: 9/6/14 at 11:37pmI hope Hedwig goes on tour (with a Broadway Vet.) or at least comes to LA.
#295Hedwig's future
Posted: 9/7/14 at 12:08amthey should do 6 evening shows(Sun, Mon & Tue @ 7pm & Thur, Fri, Sat @ 8pm) plus a Saturday show at 4pm. No need for two matinee shows a week.

Posted: 9/7/14 at 9:01amIt's 5 weeks until the new Hedwig. When are they going to announce? What's the typical interval?
