^ Thanks. I wonder why they haven't announced it yet?
they probably want to keep it on the DL. Yeah i noticed a week ago that Penn and Teller is going into the Music Box
http://playbill.com/celebritybuzz/article/schedule-of-upcoming-broadway-shows-113677
well idk not according to this
That's incorrect.

Yeah i know they said the Marquis first, but I was thinking maybe they changed theaters
They can't change theaters until Heidi is confirmed to close as they're scheduled to run through August. The Marquis will be empty until October.
Yea thats what I'm saying. Maybe they changed theaters and just didn't announce yet. The Music Box will be empty until October too
Penn & Teller is going into the Marquis and they're not changing theaters. http://pennandtelleronbroadway.com/

I believe that could be safely said of pretty much anything Phillypinto throws out there. He is an uneducated teenager who trolls message boards for fun (and sugar daddies).
OKAY PEOPLE CALM THE F*CK DOWN! All i said was that on playbill.com it said it was going into the Music Box goodness! And ya never know, maybe they have a summer engagement planned for the Marquis
according to the email I just got from broadwaybox, they're closing on May 3rd
Very sad...certainly a highlight of the season for me.

I would think they will not announce until Tony nominations come out. If they get a nomination for Revival, they might look at sales and decide if its worth it to keep the show open until the Spring Touring Conference (when most out of town voters are here) later in May. If they miss out on Revival and/or dont see enough uptick in sales, itll close on the 3rd.

Phil - this is one of the problems people have with you. Just say you were incorrect, or that you relied on Playbill and it must have been in error - and say you are sorry. Instead, you try to deflect and then go back to try and justify what you were claiming in the first place - with nothing to base it on. I know - you will claim that the last sentence was just a sarcastic joke or snark. But, there's nothing to indicate that - and you have a history on this board of never letting go of a claim. You could even have written something like: "Well, Penn & Teller are masters of distraction, so maybe the Music Box announcement is a fake out!" or "Maybe Penn & Teller are going to magically change the Music Box into the Marquis" or "Maybe Penn& Teller decided, on further thought, to do the most amazing magic trick and put a successful show into the Marquis"
"according to the email I just got from broadwaybox, they're closing on May 3rd"
That was what I got.
Since when does a shows discount code presume that the show will close prematurely...?
Some other examples of the same situation:
GIGI's discount code expires on May 3.
SOMETHING ROTTEN!'s discount code expires on May 24.
DR. ZHIVAGO's discount code expires on May 24.
...and so on. Maybe Broadway Box is advertising the "final performances" that you can get this deal on. Maybe not. Something just tells me that this well-reviewed, well-casted and received, NYT Critic's Pick won't close a week or two after Tony nominations come out where they are bound to be recognized.
Then again, maybe I'm wrong. But I'm really rooting for this wonderful show.
I hope you're right, because I adored this production, but "Final Performances! Don't miss The Heidi Chronicles" didn't sound promising.
From the email:
"Don't miss your last chance to see Wendy Wasserstein's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece right where it belongs: on Broadway. The Star Ledger cheers, "Elisabeth Moss triumphs. She is mesmerizing." "Bryce Pinkham is perfect," raves NY1 and Deadline says, "Jason Biggs tops his terrific performance on 'Orange Is The New Black' in subtlety and humor."
Get your tickets today, because this groundbreaking play is only on Broadway for a few more weeks. As NBC New York says, "It's dynamic, affecting, and as relevant today as it was 25 years ago.""
Very true, that doesn't sound like a promising advertisement. I hope it's not a bad sign, as I also loved this production!
ggersten, what in the world are you talking about??? I very well knew that they announced they were going into the Marquis. Things do change quickly in this business so what are you talking about???
"you try to deflect and then go back to try and justify what you were claiming in the first place - with nothing to base it on."
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?? I DO HAVE SOMETHING TO BASE THAT ON: THE PLAYBILL.COM THING. You are crazy!!!!!
Philly - whatever the case, Playbill.com has fixed their error, listing Penn & Teller as appearing at the Marquis. Let's put this to rest, shall we?
