Josie and the Pussycats was sung by the lead singer of Letters to Chleo.. If Rosario sang at all it was on backround vocals..

"Someday I'm going to have a baby and I'm gonna name her L'il Mimi Marquez and I and will sing to her every day and when she's a toddler I will say "L'il Mimi Marquez, clad only in a bubble diaper, will perform her famous play pen handcuff dance to the sounds of breast milk being pumped!" ~Kringas
Met her, smoked with her outside of her hotel, and worked on Josie and the Pussycats. She was a sweetheart. Unfortunately, I didn't know who she was at the time.
(Wasn't the soundtrack unbelievably catchy?!)
"It's not always about you!!!" (But if you think I'm referring to you anyway, then I probably am.)
"Good luck returning my ass!" - Wilhemina Slater
"This is my breakfast, lunch and f***ing dinner right here. I'm not even f***in' joking." - Colin Farrell
I think she's very down to earth and real. You know what else is really cute. i read in the paper in the other day that she officially moved out of her apartment on the lower east side that she's lived in her whole life and she sat on the stoop hanging out with her family and chatting with neighbors before she moved to cali. and guess who was hanging out with her ---tracie thoms. I love that those two became such good friends. There's obviously something "in the water" when people work on RENT, I guess and people get and stay close.
Heh, good, I'm not the only weirdo out there with the Josie and the PUssycats soundtrack.
And I like Rosario Dawson. I never thought of her really as a individual actress until recently, but I've usually always liked her work. That sounds weird, I know, but it's like I've enjoyed her performances in movies, without then seeking out other movies she's been in, I just stumble upon them from time to time.
I always end up crying at weird points in movies with her as well, like one of her last scene's in Sidewalks of New York, where she's at the other guy's building and trying to find his buzzer. Yeah, I know I'm weird.
Like a firework unexploded
Wanting life but never
knowing how
She's probably one of the most adorable people I've ever seen! She's so cute, I'm not so sure what I think yet about her voice, I'm undecided on that factor, BUT I LOVE HER TO DEATH!

Yes Rosario does her own vocals for Rent.. She has a nice voice..

I think if someone else was doing her vocals they would've gotten someone with a little bit more ability than we've heard in the clips. Not that she sounds bad, I quite like her voice, but she's not really comparable to the rest of the cast as far as vocal ability from what I've heard.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
Somebody to me who heard if from somebody else who over heard it quite by accident, so I know it's true.
I don't know where I heard it I just did. I am apt to believe it too considering what I thought of her performance in Two Gentlemen of Verona. Updated On: 9/20/05 at 01:49 PM
Em I knew that dog too.. Quite the little gossip..

She obviously wasn't dubbed in Rent. But her voice is VERY thin, and they say she had pitch problems in VERONA. So it's pretty obvious that she most likely had studio work done on her voice.
Regardless, she does indeed seem like a sweet girl.
Rosario Dawson has to be one of the most down to earth celebrities out there. Fame has not gone to her head. Here's a girl who at 15 was discovered sitting in the front stoop of her East Village squat to be in a movie. That movie was Larry Clark's controversial film, KIDS.
Fast forward 10 years later and Rosario (until recently) still kept her apartment in that same East Village tenement when most others would have been lone gone. She's never lost sight of where she's come from and stays true to her roots.
Mimi in RENT is by far her best role yet. I tink this will be the one to put her *over the top* and she couldn't have been more right for the role.
Rosario also always stays true to her New York City roots by starring in films set in and around the city, from KIDS to SIDE STREETS to SIDEWALKS OF NEW YORK to CHELSEA WALLS and now RENT.
As a New Yorker and most importantly as a Nuyorican I am extremely proud that she's up there "representing". She's come a long way and she has so much more ahead of her.
*blinks* You live in FLORIDA? ME TOO! Tampa! Rosario is amazing, I take all my 'ye of little faith' talk from when I first heard she was cast, she kicks a$$ with all kind of madness.

3. "I love shrubs that are historical." -Johnny and The Sprites
4. "We're not singing it to you, we're singing it for us." -Rosario Dawson, about La Vie Boheme

6. "Pass the parcel. That's sometimes all you can do. Take it, feel it and pass it on. Not for me, not for you, but for someone, somewhere, one day. Pass it on, boys. That's the game I want you to learn. Pass it on." -The History Boys
