To the news that "Ace" (only that the quote marks are not necessary is annoying in itself) is going to be in a Broadway show, I say UGH.
Grease ain't me forte, mate. Am I a Phillistine for not being all that crazy about Grease?
Although, speaking of Idol alums on the Great White Way, I totally loved that Clay Aiken in Spamalot. He was a delight! My partner and I were scrambling to get decent seats to *any* show that day. Spamalot was not our radar but we got excellent seats completely on a quirk of luck. And we were so happy!!
What's next: David Archuleta in Spring Awakening??
Grease & everyone involved with Grease can go fornicate themselves with a big iron stick. Also, Chris have you heard Tori sing on her show? My ears began too BLEED.
*sigh* well it does befit the way the show was casted anyway. Laura Osnes and Max Crumbyyy basically won the roles as if they were on American Idol anyway.
And yet these new kids on the great white way keep this show consistently making money week after week, in spite of all the negativity heaved in their faces. Grease has grossed over 34 million this past year, continues to play to 85% or more audience. Has averaged a ticket price that most shows would envy, and doesn't look like it will stop anytime soon. (Oh how many other shows have come and gone during the same time frame hmmmmmmm,) That is no easy job these days is it? Congratulations to a talented group of performers. And Break a Leg Ace!
Ugh. . .could this show sink any lower? I thought after the ABYSMAL Tony performance people might realize that there are more worthwhile things on Broadway. But alas. . .
I've no idea who that is, since I don't watch that show since the 1st season, but he is kinda hot. Still, I don't think I could ever go see this new revival of Grease!

I love Aces voice so I have no problem with him being cast in this show. Now that they have the two that should have won the leading roles to begin with playing Danny & Sandy (in my opinion) then I guess its time for another road trip to the city.
when will this fad of stunt casting pass? I don't think I can take anymore what is next Tori Spelling replacing Kelli O'Hara
Ok. Seriously? It's *Grease. GREASE. Not Shakespeare. Not Sondheim.... And why can't someone like Ace come into the show. What, because he was on a reality show or American Idol suddenly he's out of consideration? There have been a handful of people who have come from Idol that did pretty well - and they went through just as much of a casting process (dealing with Idol) as others who have breezed through on an open call and were cast off the street. It's a knee-jerk reaction now to automatically feel disgusted when a reality stars name is mentioned, but at least see if they can't handle the role before the negativity starts. You just might be surprised.....as a lot of people have been at some of the other "stunt casted" reality stars.
I also happen to think the phrase "stunt casting" is incredibly over-used and rarely used appropriately anymore.....
For a bunch of people who hate the show or couldn't care less or wish it ill will, you can't seem to stop talking about it. Seems there might be some greener than Shrek lurking around.
