Wasn't she recording a CD? Whatever happened with this.
I can't wait until she comes out with a CD hopefully within the next 10 years. Personally I'd like to see a mix of Broadway showtunes and original contemporary pop music. What songs would you like her to include on her CD?
Broadway performers generally record CDs when they can't get a job on stage, or when they don't want to be working on stage non-stop. Foster has pretty much constantly been working since she won her Tony Award in 2002. With at least a year commitment to the upcoming YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, I don't see her needing to make any CDs other than cast recordings anytime soon. She has mentioned in interviews, when asked, that she does want to eventually record a CD, but she just needs to find the time.
i would listen to it so often, it would break.
but, I do agree with "wanna be a foster"....I would rather she be working than recording.
I understand that, but when she eventually goes to record a CD (which I believe is inevitable), what songs would you like to see on it?
EDIT: Changed "city" to "CD." Sorry, WAY too early in the morning for me.
record a city?
I'd like to hear a duet with Hunter, and a duet with Christian.
Specific songs? Hmm... I'd like to hear her tackle Come Rain or Come Shine...
I'm curious about Idina's album, should be interesting. But for now I'd much prefer Sutton to stay on the stage doing what she does best.

True, but to answer the question, what would you like to hear her sing???
I'd like to hear her do anything besides the generic 1920's style cookie cutter songs she does onstage.
I dunno, maybe a Maury Yeston or something that shows more of a range. (I've never been terribly impressed with her. Always wish she'd show something besides the typical showgirl stuff. It seems like her performances are forgettable-saw her understudy in Drowsy-no difference at all! I hardly knew she wasn't there.)

I'd like to have her "On My Way" recorded, because she was fierce w/ that song at Joe's Pub.
"I Know You by Heart" by Eva Cassidy (i'm not sure if Eva wrote it or just performed it). It's not a show tune, but it is a lovely ballad.
"Ba Ba Black Sheep"
Ha, that'd be funny.
I really hope she doesn't do pop... Three words of warning: The Storm Inside. Competent but uninspiring and a commercial flop. Would love to hear Sutton doing some classic showtunes with a bit of 80s/90s cheese, I Still Believe...?
Oooh, her "On My Way" was SO fierce! I vote for that.
And bwaygal, she does do some Maury Yeston on his Songbook CD... her I Wanna Go to Hollywood is my favorite version.
I can't really hear Sutton sining any sort of pop/rock type music. Sure she has a pretty high belt but it has that ol' fashioned Broadway sound to it rather than a pop feel. At any rate, I'd love to hear her tackle "A Wonderful Guy" or any of Nellie's songs from South Pacific (why is she not in the running to play Nellie next year at Lincoln Center?) and maybe "Let Me Entertain You." She'd also be great on doing anything from the Jule Styne songbook - especially stuff from Fade-In, Fade-Out and Hazel Flagg.
Z.
Nothing. I wish she refrains from recording ANYTHING that's not a cast recording of a show that she's in.
Her voice is suited perfectly for the stage and musical theater -- but singing a standard or pop/rock tune?
HECK NO!
Have you ever heard her sing "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head"? I enjoyed that, and I would consider that pop/rock. She's also showed off her more "pop" side in Grease..."Since I Don't Have You."
"Mahnama-na–do do do do do… do do do do– Mahnama-na"
I want her to sing that.

But that song is the 20s style that she has already done in Millie and Drowsy. Hopefully "Young Frankenstein" will show something different.
As for her "Cd" - I'd like to hear her sing "Rainbow Tour" from Evita.

Don't you mean "Rainbow High" from EVITA? "Rainbow Tour" is also a song, but Eva maybe sings 8 bars in the whole number.
What I'd Like to hear:
"Unusual Way"
"Meadowlark"
any of the Reno material from ANYTHING GOES
"Little Lamb" and w/guest, "If Mamma Was Married"
most anything Sondheim!
"Moments in the Woods", "On the Steps of the Palace", "There Won't be Trumpets", "Move On", "Everybody Loves Louis",
and many, MANY more!

Ha, yes, that's what I meant. Thanks. For some reason I can never remember the names of those two songs, and I was in the freakin' show.
Oh, and I'd love to hear her sing the opening song of "Sunday.." or the song about her new boyfriend.
"So Long, Dearie" from DOLLY
"On My Own" from LES MIZ
"Better Than a Dream" with someone from BELLS ARE RINGING
"A Hundred Easy Ways" from WONDERFUL TOWN

She told me, after her concert at joe's pub, that she is recording a cd. But that was forever ago. But either way she did say that she had just signed the contract that day and it would be a little while. Hoping she's still going to record the cd!
Ignore link in my post. That is NOT NOT NOT my link (or the link I originally posted).
"Your Daddy's Son" from Ragtime.
