From what I've seen on social media, Miguel has every intention of returning, not to say things couldn't be arranged to have Lin reopen it but I feel like that's unlikely."
You’re right. Totally forgot Miguel transferred over. Had assumed Ryan was still Hamilton at the onset of the shutdown.

Why would you hope that? You won't have to because, as has been rehearsed, you are never coming to the jurisdiction again. Are you planning on having DeBlasio appoint you Commisioner of Sidewalks or something?
tbc the p6 link is to a piece from 3 days ago (and thus before the hair cut) so while they are often late to the party, this link lands them in the Peter Marks territory

He may not have a voice likeBrian Stokes Mitchell, but Lin's talent netted him gazillions and power."
Doesn't change the fact that he can't act or sing."
This is yet another of those silly tangents that seems to creep into more and more threads. There is nothing in this thread about LMM's talent, and it is anything but a "fact" that he can't act or sing. That's just your opinion. You are entitled to it but it is the opposite of a fact. Why do we have to have these lamea$$ diversions into individual tastes when that has nothing to do with what intelligent people are discussing?

Look, if you've never seen the man live and are just basing it on his sad, low energy performance that was filmed and presented on Disney+, then I could understand your view. But, live he is electric, magnetic, and a wonderful actor. When he walked onto the stage for the first scene in In The Heights, people just lost their minds, same when I saw Hamilton at The Public and on Broadway. He isn't a strong singer, which he has admitted on this very message board, but one person cannot be good at everything.
The point is you are not spittin fax, just a single opinion.

I am so sorry for interrupting this very important thread about Lin growing his hair out… simply agreeing with what another poster said. Sorry for not prefacing my statement with “in my opinion…”.

My comment was directed as much (or more) at the comment to which you responded. I am not objecting that you did not add an "IMO" (it was clear to me it was your opinion). My objection is to the all-too-frequent practice around here of injecting opinions into discussions about a different point (no matter how trivial that point may be although I don't think the underlying question here is trivial at all) as if anyone cares what your opinion is in this context. (And note that the latter is the key point. I have no problem with robust expressions of opinions when they are relevant to the thread but this is not one of those.) Sorry but I think it's lame. Just something to ponder...
Bully-mode, once again. I respect how true-to-character you are.
Back on topic:
I was thinking with Tick, Tick... Boom! being released at some point in late 2021, a return to Hamilton would be a really effective way to generate publicity for himself and his movie (along with the other benefits of jump-starting Broadway's return)
This sounds like it is going to be a Channing/Dolly situation and it's never a bad thing to have a ready project on the back burner. Anytime he wants a quick buck, just haul out Hamilton. I would think with his Disney money, he won't actually be needing a quick buck for a while though. And just wait until licensing for Hamilton comes out!

He was making at least $25mil a year off stage-Hamilton pre-covid. I don't think quick bucks are on his mind at the moment. I worry about a lot of people, but this is not one of them.

Regarding the possibility of using Hamilton to promote Tick, Tick...Boom!, that would be less about making a buck and more a labor of love to get people to watch his directorial debut.
(But, also, based on early ticket sales... my theory about him opening Hamilton to "jump-start Broadway" seems to not be necessary.)
