Is there correlation between creativity and crime rate? What??... I swear some of you here are truly disturbed or lack critical thinking abilities altogether.

How many migrants are you personally hosting in your spare bedroom or living room, Matt? Given your extreme righteousness on this board, please do provide us with the exact number.

It's interesting that conservatives or "non-lefties", if not entirely, mostly offer an opinion without attacking the lefties for simply being on the left. Contrast that with what the lefties too often do. The lefties, as demonstrated here, will either attack the opposing side for simply being on the opposing side or avoid the argument, throw out a quip and stick their heads in the sand....or both. And requesting a perceived pointless topic to be deleted is absurd. Why is the merit of an argument so offensive to so many of you? To be fair, some on the left do make an earnest attempt at discussing the merits of the argument, but my gosh, do you not see the absurdity with so many willingly participating here but avoiding the argument? In fact, they are attempting squash any argument. "Get in line, else you're an evil POS?", isn't that what you're really saying?

Kad said: "I am shocked, shocked!,by which members are most disturbed by the increased presence of immigrants in midtown."

This quoted comment is absurd. I know Kad is not stupid. To the contrary, he is quite intelligent. Unreasonable though, he is. The "presence of immigrants" bothers no one here. It's the fact these immigrants came here illegally AND they are putting a burden on the tax payers the tax payers did not sign up for. There are significant problems to be dealt with, and "putting your head in the sand", jumping up and down and being appalled by those who believe the rule of law is significantly important is simply unreasonable.
"

I’m sorry, the entire first page of this thread is entirely members griping about the mere presence of these people. There is no mention of burden on tax payers or any other sociopolitical issue attached to their presence.

Nobody here has said things are great or that there isn’t an issue- there is a glaring issue. America is too large and too wealthy of a nation to have thousands of folks in temporary housing at best out on the streets of its largest city. It’s too large and too wealthy to have as many homeless people, as well.

I object to the disdain and disgust so many here have expressed and the blame so many here have freely put on these people instead of on the massive bipartisan failures that have led to them being here. You think the young mothers and their little kids selling candy in the subways nowadays wanted this? You think they actively schemed to be a burden on tax payers?  Absurd. These people are not your enemies, they are not invaders, and they are not human garbage. They’ve been turned into a political hot potato.

It was worse then - but Times Square was the top spot for b movies - grind house and porn- it was interesting- today it’s restaurants closing at 9 pm and empty store fronts and target - at least in the old days it was fun and dangerous- now it’s depressing empty and sketch

It so far hasn’t changed my travel plans or spending (three trips this yr), but I’ve definitely noticed an uneasy difference. Was there a month ago and my 10-yr old daughter got to see two peni$es on the street in less than 48 hrs. That was fun. :-/  Also saw a woman $hitting on 50th, but was able to steer around so that I was the only one who got that show. That’s a LOT for 2 mostly daylight days — and way beyond any of my dozens of other trips (usually just husband & me; not kid). Have noticed a post-pandemic (well, abated pandemic) change for sure, but this late July trip was… beyond. No idea who to “blame” so not even gonna try. Just sad.

Please.  No remotely reasonable person, with a few seconds of thought, would conclude people posting on the first page are upset by the mere presence of immigrants.  Did those posters really need to spell out additional context?  There are also plenty of posts indicating valid concerns.  And no one believes young mothers and their little kids selling candy in subways wanted this.  No one said or implied these immigrants, illegal or otherwise, were human garbage.  You are arguing against points that do not exist.

The main grievances on the first page can be summed up as “kids on scooters and people smoking weed and we know they’re immigrants because they’re outside of the Row.” Those are literally the complaints.

I’m Hispanic - live in Bronx - work on Broadway in the theaters - I see this stuff- yeah there is a crisis - you are so loyal to your ideology - you can’t see reality - I’m not - I vote for republicans and democrats and voted for libertarians and Green Party - not ideological- so maybe take your blinders off and loyalty to D and progressive ideology for a moment

Next he’ll be saying that the criminals were the true victims, just good old boys didn’t mean no harm. They coulda been doctors! They coulda been astronauts!

Even if the story had been in the Post, you wouldn’t have believed it. Face it, there are problems in NYC. Enough different people here have described them.

See, this is what I mean by a useless discussion topic! Broadway Flash, you need to find better topics to discuss on this platform. Your constant trolling is not needed on here!

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

I mentioned two people who were jumped at the row in my comments. Yes, they were Broadway workers and are quite possibly the same two mentioned by BP. And no, it would not necessarily be front page news. I am quite sure a lot of incidents like this happen and it doesn't hit the news. I have had them happen to friends in the past.
