You say you're not an anti-masker, BroadwayPatriot? On another thread, you said:

"The mask does zero - nothing - hundreds of peer reviewed studies prove this - as far as preventing the spread of anything- masks are worn in surgery to prevent spit from getting in an open body lol"

You also said this:

"all you guys have done so far is complain to the mods to "shut it down" and called eveyone "right wingers"...... Thus isthe result of too much cable news TV...."

You have confused me with someone else. I haven't called anyone a right winger, nor do I watch cable news tv. I DO think this thread should be shut down or at least moved to the off topic board, because it really isn't about Broadway.

Also, a little advice? Paragraph breaks are your friend. Your posts are nearly unreadable.

To me this whole discussion sounds like a homeless issue and a healthcare issue. Two things this country could so easily fix but chooses repeatedly not to. Not a “migrant” issue

Broadway has its problems. Producers' greed was the beginning. Covid was nearly the death blow.

I have lived in NYC and worked on Broadway for decades. I've seen a lot in that time. Migrants are the tiniest part of the problem. Matt, ACL2006, and Kad are correct.

This thread is embarrassing and the mods are asleep at the wheel. For those who agree with me, report the original post. This thread should be deleted or at least locked.

Pauly and Patriot, you have made my day. Rational and reasonable minds who have stayed calm and clear with their positions. Blessings on you both!

I never said that. Please don't put words in my mouth. This thread was never about Broadway and it's off-topic. It's xenophobic. Delete, lock, or move it to the off topic board.

I will say I was mask compliant, I was a team player but yeah That’s thought it was goofy from day one , but the mask fervor was real and wasn’t going to fight people over a mask lol , my view on masks changed drastically after getting the Rona. Noted on my bizarre writing style

How is anyone xenophobic ? I live in the most multi ethnic area you can imagine, I love all people , but I believe we should not have an open border policy , over burdening a city which is financially strapped as it is, you can be multi cultural, open minded and friendly without supporting a ludicrous open border policy . I welcome immigrants , ones who come here the same way my relatives did and everyone else on this board, the xenophobic and racist accusations are tiresome and cheap shots , a way to virtue signal your way out of a rational debate

No, Matt is not alone, Broadway Ptriot, and if you are really someone who works on Broadway, I don't know how you got by as an anti-vaxx/masker.
"

Funny you mentioned that, I got COVID twice with the masks and the vaccines, you might want to wonder why they lifted the restrictions, they did not prevent workers from getting sick..... I have not even had a runny nose since the mandates have been lifted, however some people are still coming down with COVID, however the percentages were much, much higher, when we were wearing masks and only the vaccinated were allowed to come to theaters, as far as I know workers still have to be vaxcinated, I supported it all, until I got sick the first time. I would not say I'm "anti", i had an open mind, I obeyed the mandates, took 3 vaccines, wore masks..... but then I got sick with COVID twice.... I'm not one of those "true believer" types, when I saw firsthand, the restrictions and vaccines did not protect me, I chnged my views on all of it.....That is how nornal people think.

The world is more complex than what MSNBC, FOX News NY Times, WaPo, Breitbart, Newsmax and CNN present. Most people are not married to an ideology, married to mantras, married to a set way of thinking, we change our views based on experience.

Oh my god. What a lunatic.

I live in the most multi ethnic area you can imagine,

Xenephobia: dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries.

I agree. It's mostly racism, because if the migrants were Canadians we would have this thread. But racists are the only people who deny they are racist by pointing out they have ethnic friends/neighbors. So you are racist.

I love all people , but I believe we should not have an open border policy ,

We don't have an open border policy.

over burdening a city which is financially strapped as it is, you can be multi cultural, open minded and friendly without supporting a ludicrous open border policy .

Again, we don't have an open border policy.

I welcome immigrants , ones who come here the same way my relatives did and everyone else on this board,

You are aware that people just hopped on a boat and arrived here, which isn't any different from the current Migrant crisis. The only difference is they are kept on Ellis Island. There was no preprocessing like now. And these migrants are here in accordance with our immigration laws.

the xenophobic and racist accusations are tiresome and cheap shots , a way to virtue signal your way out of a rational debate"

Oh God, now the person calling actors "snobs" on Reddit for saying non eq tours don't pay enough is on Broadway World giving us their opinion.

Please, more people that don't live or work here, please chime in! /sarcarsm (And liveD doesn't count. Post-pandemic NYC is a different world).

For real, if no one has anything useful to add... then this thread has reached the end of its usefulness.

Migrants should come here legally, of course they should. Trouble is morons have made that harder and harder. Impossible almost. They must be terrified of scooters too.

There was a Cameo thread here recently, and I got banned for seven days for daring to say that Beyoncé selling a resort in Dubai was just Cameo on a grand scale. My comment was deleted within minutes and I got a PM saying that the conversation had nothing to do with Dubai. Then I was gone.

Why is this allowed to last six pages? To me, it seems like a dangerous attempt to stir up hate and division. There is no justice in this world. Sad.

the mod here really pick and chose what threads remain open. I got banned for a week months again for saying something about Beanie in Funny Girl. yet this trainwreck thread remains open and nobody has been banned. Good job, mods...

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Wait, a big city in the world has crime, immigration and drug problems? Well I am shocked, shocked i tell you. Here in the UK all our major cities have the same problems that have existed for decades, its weird to suddenly link all that to immigration.

Man, this thread is nuts, as a Brit I think it's beyond nuts that every issue that ever seems to exist in America anymore is just a political fight.

Majority of people in this city say that the migrant crisis is a problem according to every poll. Like others have said, many of them are immigrants themselves.  Go tell the people of the bronx and queens who are protesting that they’re racist and xenophobic.

"Oh God, now the person calling actors "snobs" on Reddit for saying non eq tours don't pay enough is on Broadway World giving us their opinion."

Can you explain what you mean by this, Voter? Your statement above makes no sense at all.

What does "a person" posting on Reddit about snobbish actors have anything to do with their right to post an opinion on a separate subject here? How do you even know it's the same person? Why are you stalking Fosse76 on Reddit? Who is Marc and why do you think I'm him?

What does any of your post quoted above have to do with migrants, much less how they might affect Broadway?

"Majority of people in this city say that the migrant crisis is a problem according to every poll."

Really, "every poll", BroadwayFlash?

This thread is completely out of control.

That's all word salad, Broadway Patriot. Again, Fosse and I have worked in Times Square for decades. We are both union members.

"Dude, you would defecate your pants walking up the block in my area, because you are the real racist . And yea as a working class union member on Broadway , I know all the cops on the Duce"

I've lived in the 73rd precinct since the 90s. Highest crime area since the 80s. Take a seat.

Also, it's spelled the deuce, and there is only one theater on 42nd st, which is what that means.  I'm pretty sure that you are full of it and are making up your claims.

eta; BroadwayPatriot's post was deleted. Let's let this thread rest, please.
