Just finished listening to the OBC recording of this underrated musical, I really, really like it. I'm surprised that neither ENCORES! or Reprise have done a concert staging of this show. I would like to see what they would do with the material. It would also be interesting to see who they would cast.

I saw the original with Michelle Lee and worked on the tour with Lucie Arnaz and John Gavin. The show is a mess and the ending is, frankly, so depressing. Nice score, though.
Ps, I never liked "Two for the Seesaw."

I would love to see them do this. I think Idina Menzel would make a very good Geittel. My big fear is who do we have, male dancer wise, that could play David?
Menzel did come to mind when I was thinking about an actress who could play "Geittel".
She does seem the obvious choice. I listened to the cast recording the other day and was thinking how nice it would be also if Encores did the show
@ allofmylife: I love "Two for the Seesaw".
@ Jordan Catalano: Yes she does seem the obvious choice. Mandy Gonzalez also came to mind as well.

But is there a nice, WASP-y leading man around?
I think the score has its moments. I like the finale, despite its sadness. Perhaps. I'd rather see them tackle an obscure Kander and Ebb show first though.
I am a huge lover of Cy Coleman and would love for this to get a staging. The score is a little uneven imo, but the good far outweighs the mediocre. And I consider "Nobody Does It Like Me" to be a bona fide classic.
If they can do APPLAUSE, the can do SEESAW.
Yes! I'd also like them to do "Raisin".
BTW, I'm thinking the Kritzer and Patrick Wilson for SEESAW.
^^^That's brilliant casting, BB.^^^

I also agree with Borstalboy! (What is this world coming to?)
Kritzer and Patrick Wilson for SEESAW
That deserves a Facebook group.
Yes it does, but not until Encores does The Golden Apple.
Yuck. Awful show.
I say an Encores! season of Seesaw, The Golden Apple, and The Grand Tour.
A show queen can dream, can't she?
I'm almost tempted to start a facebook campaign to get this going...
I swear to God, there has to be some kind of rights f**kery going on with THE GOLDEN APPLE...there's no reason why no one has tried to do a concert of it yet.
SEESAW - Another sweetly charitable view of New York. (The New Yorker).
SEESAW was the first broadway show I ever saw....I admit, I don't remember all that much safe for Michelle Lee and Tommy Tune...sat in the VERY last row of the then Uris Theatre.....it'd be great for Encores to do it. Someone needs to revive shows that never get revived...not just the same old same old. (Don't get me wrong, I like the same old's as much as anyone does...but lets see something else that we can rediscover)
The people who run Encores are snobs.
They should do fun but flawed shows like Seesaw, Golden Rainbow, I Had a Ball, etc., with STARS. I am not paying good money for C-level stars.
I want Seth MacFarlane and Anne Hathaway in a show, not Leslie Kritzer, whom 16 people know and care about.

i like the score from Seasaw but if you listen
all the songs sung by Michelle Lee sound almost identical
strange to me her voice does not change at all during any song
always the same very bland sound mostly
..I do like it but the show is kind of
"dated"
