Ha, I wish I could've lived through the beatles era.

Jazzy, don't make me love you any more than I already do. The Beatles are my favorite band of all time. (Though, I still would have taken going to Woodstock over a Beatles concert....)
Mmmm.... would love to hear Gavin sing something like "Oh, Darling" or "Across the Universe" or even "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite"!

Ha, the Beatles is my favorite band as well. I like A LOT of different bands (Sublime, Green Day, 30 Seconds to Mars are all my favorite modern bands) but nothing even compares to the Beatles. I really like the idea of Gavin singing 'O, Darling'. Riffs galore!
Yay for Beatles love! But then again, I've met few people who know their music and DISLIKE them. My most prized possession - a *record* of their Beatles 1962-1966 album.

Those people are obviously insane. And am jealous. My parents had Beatles records, but they got ruined when our basement flooded! **cries**
That sucks, Leia If it makes you feel any better, I don't even have a working record player to listen to it. It just collects dust on my wall.

I wouldn't want to listen to it, I'd be afraid of scratching it! LOL
And BUMP!!! I feel like showing Gavin some love.
I'm late to this party, but I love him as well!! He seems like such a sweet, kind person!
I saw Hair last month and am planning to take my brother to see it for his birthday in October.... is it bad that it's a gift to me as well as him? LOL

^^ Seeing Hair (and Gavin) is a great way to spend a birthday. That is a gift that keeps on giving.
Ahh if Gavin sang a Beatles song... I get into angry debates at school about the Beatles versus the Stones. Good times.

I just hope your brother appreciates it as much as you do! And I think it's a wonderful birthday present! I did kind of the reverse of what you did though. I bought tickets for my mom for my birthday (actually going ON my birthday in 2 weeks. What a great way to spend the day). So it was kind of my birthday present to myself, but actually for her. LOL

Alright, I'm cheating...I'm just going to copy and paste what I put on the 'HAIR Love Thread'.
Ok guys, put all the brownies and cookie dough for the Jazzy bake sale on hold, I MIGHT get to New York City sometime soon (squeak!). It's actually kind of funny...you'll laugh.
I was having lunch with my mom today, and somehow I got into the topic of HAIR and how much I am obsessed with it. My grandmother (aka, my mom's mom) goes to NYC on business a lot. She is pretty well respected in that company, and they are pretty friendly with her (mainly because they're terrified of her since she has such a high status). Anyway, when I brought up HAIR, my mom said that she would talk to my grandmother and ask her when she'll be going to New York City again...and to see if I can join her . I would have to buy my own plane ticket and 2 tickets to the show, but I have sufficient funds...so I'm not worried. My grandmother would be able to get me into the hotel with her (she's done that before. I've gone to Mexico City 4 times with her while she was on business trips...don't ask me how she manages to do it) and she would have to convince the people of her company to book the hotel for an extra day, but she's managed to do that several times (and I STILL don't know how...). The funny thing is, I would be seeing Hair with my grandmother, lol. It doesn't get much funnier than that! Nothing is set and stone, but right now...I have a chance that I can go to NYC and see HAIR (finally)!!!!
Oh Jazzy! I hope everything works out! I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Jazzy yay! I'm so happy for you!!!!
Seeing this show will be my first exposure to Gavin Creel. He sounds great on the cast recording and looks like a true hottie! Can't wait!
^^ The show is great! Gavin is amazing as Claude and yes, he IS a true hottie. He is also very nice. I met him at the stage door and he was so sweet.

Haha, thanks guys. Your comments always make me smile.
Hey Everyone-
So I come into work tonight and the boss tells me that one of my co workers who they were sending on our annual conference in toronto this weekend is pulling out because she's very sick...he asked me if I would take her spot, which is very exciting but DEVASTATING because I found out I don't get back until Tuesday morning and I have two tickets for Gavin's 11:30 show I seriously can't even tell you how sad this makes me that I won't be able to be there and I almost even looked for a flight to get me back in time but i simply can't afford it. but what sort of softens the blow is knowing that I could make someone's dream of seeing Gavin come true. Please PM me if your interested. I am only looking for what I paid for them. I just want to make sure they go to someone who is really pumped to see Gavin.
thats terrible news gustof! very nice of you to sell them tho. he has said that hes doing more concerts in the fall tho so hopefully you get to check one of those out.
thanks gerb...my heart hit the floor when I realized I would be missing the show but you're right. I can only hope to catch the next one. *sigh I think i'll go try the HAIR lotto tonight to see if the gods take sympathy on me and at least let me see Gavin in SOMETHING

He also mentions his "last" performance is September 6th. Hopefully he will extend.
