So after being away from my favorite thread for a few days I felt I'd do my part to keep this topic on the first page :)
I present for everyone's enjoyment Gavin Creel sinking his teeth into the Next to Normal score. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PV6e4HE74gM Although he may be a bit young for the role of "Dan" it was a treat to hear him give it a try.

You're all very welcome but I take no real credit in posting it. It was just a lucky find on youtube ^^ I'm not sure how I feel about these different [original?] lyrics but I love listening to his version :]
What is that from? All the info says is Joe's Pub and the date. Those aren't the Feeling Electric lyrics, but I can't figure out what they are.

"I've Been" was actually a song that Tom Kitt wrote for his band. It didn't start out being connected to Next to Normal at all, but then he and Brian Yorkey thought the melody would work well in the show, so they kept the song but changed the lyrics and put it in the show.
So the lyrics that Gavin was singing were the original non-N2N lyrics that Tom sang with his band :)
Oh, okay, thanks. The earliest version I'd ever heard was from the NYMF production.

Was at the 8pm show tonight and Gavin looked great. (Paris is going to continue to do the matinees for a bit) He skipped out on the jumping during "I Got Life" but still took time to stand on people's chairs. And made my night by sitting in the empty seat next to me and throwing his legs across me and my friend. Didn't look like he was limping at all, but still hope he takes it easy for a while.
He was still wearing the boot at the rally on Friday. I'm wondering if he's using it off stage.
Did anyone notice at stage door?
He had it back on after the show on Friday.

He was bootless last night though. And didn't have it wrapped on stage which kind of made me nervous. Some sort of support for it would be better.

This is the excellent speech that Gavin gave last Friday. He pretty much echoed my feelings. People have a right to what ever religious beliefs they want to practice, but they DO NOT have the right to impose their religious beliefs into our law and block someone from doing something that is against their religious views.

That's one reason why I am not affiliated with any religion.
Excellent speech and I agree with every word.
If I could go I think I'd put "Going to DC" on repeat all the way to Washington.

Taylor, me and Shannon are going but we haven't decided if we're gonna go on Saturday and stay until Sunday or go down early Sunday and come back late on Sunday. If you wanna work out something and try and come with us, let me know.
kec, watch Eloise at Christmastime. More adorable Gavin goodness.

I know -- I caught that one at Christmas two-three years ago; Both films were on but I missed the first one.

I finally got to see hair with Gavin it Sat night. He was so amazing I can't even find the words to describe it. I still need to recover.
I was super suprised to see he had the boot off after the show.. and can't believe how well he was moving around and still dancing on peoples chairs!
I was at the rally on Friday as well and he is so damn inspiring.
Is there anything this man can't do?
I betcha he's not great at calculus or architecture or open heart surgery.
