At last it’s getting a wide release instead of limited. Hopefully that includes international release as well.
Whoops won’t let me edit. Let’s hope the trailer comes soon as well.
At Roundabout's recent benefit concert, Jennifer Lopez got to perform the title song.

Thanks for posting that. What made laugh out loud, was the title that she’s giving Oscar worthy. I’m sorry it’s ten freaking seconds.
I think she sounds great. And her performing it live, which many movie stars are loathe to do during promotion and award season, is a good sign.
she sounds okay, i'm just still cringing about the cuts to the material..........
She looks good, but the movie...yikes.

lol this looks way worse than I expected. Her autotune vocals are simply unbearable imo

Well it looked better than I was hoping, I’m still sad that “He’ll Do Anything” is cut
I am at a loss on why they would release this the same day as Wicked, that’s a way to get this buried
I actually thing Jennifer Lopez sounds great. The look of the movie is pretty rough though. The visuals look like a sad, low budget copy of Chicago.
If those numbers are supposed to be love letters and homages to old Hollywood musicals, they’re reading more like SHEIN knockoffs.

I believe Kiss of the Spider Woman comes out on October 10. Wicked: For Good releases over a month later on November 21.
Jeffrey, thanks for posting the trailer. Looks great. Really looking forward to seeing it this fall.
I am so excited for this movie. Visually, this trailer makes it look a little "splashy, but we're also serious". I have heard many people who have seen a cut of the film say its very good, so I'm hopeful.
I will say the lighting is a lot brighter than I was expecting it to be, but I wonder if there will be another trailer that is more "dark", to contrast the story.

I believe rosscoe(au) was referring to their trailers. Luckily, both properties have completely different target audiences

Oops! Duh. My bad. Thanks for catching that.

Me too. Believe it or not, I actually played Chita Rivera’s rendition of the title song from the original Broadway cast recording earlier today when shortly thereafter during PopStart on The Today Show, they showed a glimpse of the trailer. I went on YouTube to watch it, and I got chills.
I'm really curious about the movie at this point. I'm probably the target audience. I love musicals, but am not a giant fan of this musical, so radical changes in the material and even omission of major songs is not going to bother me. I think only utilizing songs in the fantasy segments makes sense for a film version, and might actually work better for the mass audience, which still seems not generally crazy about people bursting out into song.
But who knows? The material may not work for the large moviegoing audience in any form, in which case maybe it was a mistake to omit so much when only musical theater fans will show up to begin with. Maybe it's just the word from so many people who have had a chance to see it--both those who loved and hated it--that makes me feel I'm missing out? But I expect I'll see it as soon as it opens.
Looking forward to seeing it on the big screen.
Parts of that trailer look a little synthetic but that might just be the nature of the lighting and digital(?) cinematography. Might look better in actuality.
It looks too slick on a phone screen, but I can guarantee it looks GLORIOUS on the big screen.
Ugh, damn. I saw this before they color-graded it and thought it was the closest I'd seen Hollywood get to recreating Technicolor. Looks like they've just turned the saturation all the way up. Still, can't wait to see it again. I really loved it.

To give them the benefit of the doubt, sometimes color grading is different in a trailer. In the same way that the music bed of the new WICKED trailer is not what it will sound like on the big screen. The trailer is trying to appeal to the widest, most populist audience.
Bill Condon's direction for DREAMGIRLS was awful in the second act of the movie as it became all about Beyonce...let's hope this time he directs JLO to an Oscar nomination!

I do recall from the initial screening that all of the movie scenes actually looked like old movies so that is definitely a shame to lose here. Hopefully its jusy in the trailers to not lose viewers and they maintain it on the film itself.
