In watching an episode recently of The Muppet Show (w/ Ethel), what are your thoughts of creating Jim Henson's LABRYNTH as a stage musical?
The show has a large enough following (cult really), not to mention what the Jim Henson Creature Shop could cook-up for such a production! For those not familiar; its a fantasy/musical (from the 80's) starring David Bowie and Academy-Award Winner, Jennifer Connelly. If you haven't seen it, rent it and The DARK CRYSTAL.
Just an idea...

I'm sure many others have had the same idea. I think it would be a fabulous idea, I would ceratinly go see it!
never saw the show but as you can see i love Jim Henson!
Only if David Bowie does it hahahaha
Actually I really think this could be a huge hit.
It would certaintly be a big interesting spectacle. They would have to hire A LOT of puppeteers though.
I thought I was the only person that actually saw that movie.

i never saw it, but my friend in college had this really big obsession over the show and had a really cool poster of it hanging over her bed. I hope I can rent it or something.
I used to watch that movie ALL THE TIME when I was little
Awww, happy memories
My only concern is how would they handle Tobey? A doll, hire two year old alternates like they did for Ragtime? That's gonna be a trickey problem.
HAhah that would be amazing, I used to be obsessed with that movie when I was a kid.

My thoughts..."Boy I would love to see David Bowie on stage!"
Only if David Bowie does it & DOESN't wear his dance belt! ( Just like in the movie- check it out!)

IT'd be awesome - Plus: IMAGINE the stairwell scene at the end....
I would prefer the Dark Crystal.
But only if Rick Lyon could design the puppets.

O MY LORD JESUS CHRIST...I saw Labrynth...three years ago at summer camp with a friend, and it was absolutly...uh...theres no word to describe how awful I found it. I always liked Muppet Babies though, and The Muppet Christmas Carol? it holds as dear a place in my heart as A Miricle on 34th street. I just really didnt like Labrynth, it was way too out there, and I dont feel that a sufficient size audience will go see it.
My first thought: How awesome would that be?
My second thought: But they have to have Bowie.
Yeah that would be awesome, I think they could do it without Bowie. But that movie is really incredible.
U think they'd use puppets or people?
