Have they been having good day of sales, alot of rush etc?"
I must admit, while not exactly healthy I do think they seem to have moved more seats after starting performances vs before so I wonder if word of mouth is picking up a bit + last-minute sales do seem to be helping. Plus they still have the opportunity of good reviews etc. Not sure how expensive the show would be to run and if it's going to be enough, but I'm hoping this becomes 'a little show that could' success story!
I was pro scrabble board advertising vs. the candy necklace / Great Adventure approach but another anagram grievance I had:
At The Atlantic, there was a scene in the library where Debra rearranges R-E-A-D _N-O-W (or something similar; can’t remember exactly)block letters so they read N-E-R-D etc., teasing Seth. I was waiting for this moment on Bway but it was cut. It got a lot of laughs both times I saw it downtown.

I was at the preview on Wednesday night and can't stop thinking about it. It's really quite moving and I think Jeanine Tesori has a gorgeous score on her hands. Victoria Clark's performance is so brilliant, especially with her second act material. The "Ghost of the Girl I'll Never Be" song broke me. Bonnie Milligan is fantastic and I'm so excited to see where awards season will take her. It's a smaller show but I really think this is a very important piece of theater and I think this is a great show for all Broadway audiences. It was incredibly special being in the Booth Theatre considering it's history as well as Clark's history with making her Broadway debut there. I laughed my ass off and cried my eyes out. Go see it while you can!

What a wonderful review! I'm seeing this in 2 weeks and all the gossip I have been reading about this musical is making me more and more excited! I only know a few detail about it and never heard the score yet. The main reason why I bought a ticket was because of Bonnie. I'm getting Head Over Heels nostalgia again! She is so talented and I hope this year will be her year during Awards Season!

Saw this at the Atlantic last winter. Thought it was a good, if slight, musical. The performances elevated the material. Debating about seeing it again - has much (if anything) changed between the Atlantic and the Booth?
Sorry if this has been covered. Possibly looking to get discount seats to see this. Looking at seats on left & right far Orchestra sides (anywhere from 2 to 4 seats in from outer wall) in the first 8 rows.
I’m tall and my seat mate is fairly tall too. How tall is the stage? My preference is to be as close to the stage as possible, but only if stage height and seat angle isn’t obstructed.
I saw The Boys in the Band from outer seat RIGHT ORCHESTRA Row B, Seat 14 at The Booth & it was slightly obstructed (missed shower scene).
So any guidance on preferred seating/rows as well as preferred right or left orchestra is greatly appreciated.
Another option is all of Center Mezzanine Row F.

I sat second row center orchestra, and I thought that was just fine. I also like to be close, so even though I feel like the perspective for things in the back of the stage is a little skewed, especially when the set is Kimberly's home.
I would suggest sitting on the right side of the theatre because it will give you a better view into Kimberly's room. Not a lot happens there, but it would be nice to see into it.

any recent stagedoor updates?
Heard Victoria is very hit or miss and that Steve Boyer is outright telling people no on certain nights lately?

I sat in row AA and had to look up but the stage wasn’t that high and I’d gladly sit there again. I also recommend the right side so you don’t miss Justin Cooley in his ice skating rink cashier office which is on the left. I would go with right side orch over mezzanine.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is similar to what is mentioned in the Funny Girl thread, about actors not being allowed due to the continued risk of catching Covid. If they do, they are out, and it effects the box office.

I stagedoored after the Wednesday matinee last week (which I know is probably the worst time to try), but got signatures from Steven, Bonnie, and all four of the high schoolers. Vicki, Justin, and Alli did not come out.

I have tickets for Wednesday night.. Out of curiosity, anyone who went this past weekend: have any actors been out with COVID or anything? I am hoping to see the full cast.

I saw the show last Saturday matinee and no one was out.

I took a look at the next few weeks on telecharge tonight and the sales for the week of Christmas are non-exisistant, this is turning out to be a real bummer
So on YouTube it says that video was posted 5 hours ago and has had 99 views...
Not good marketing.

I don’t know if you have to get fix in advance or can wait. We did in person rush and were in the first row center mezz; our friends got 10th row center on the orch.
I suspect that, even with excellent reviews, this will be a hard sell and, if it is still open, I would expect that great rush seats will still be available.
I saw this last week and it was just fantastic. The plot gets a little weird in the second act but ultimately as a whole it’s deeply funny and moving. I was in the orchestra, which was completely full, though I couldn’t see the mezzanine at all from where I was. The audience was absolutely loving every minute. I really hope this show does well, or at least makes it to awards season (Clark, Cooley, and Milligan should be front runners). I could nitpick in some things but think it’s really special and well done.

Talk about bad (more specifically, insufficient) advertising: this is a show I want to see and I hadn’t realized it had started previews until I saw this thread! & Juliet and Some Like It Hot, on the other hand, are all over the place!
ETA: as soon as I made this post, I started seeing ads popping up everywhere and even heard one on the radio- good job, advertisers 😂

There have been a couple mentions of language in this thread. About how many f-words would you guess there are in the show? Just trying to gauge whether I should take my kids.
Too many to count. Kim actually makes her parents put money in the "swear jar" because of it.

At the show tonight. It opens tomorrow. Three of the male cast are out and the musical director. I glanced at the insert quickly before curtain and saw 4 male names All the 3 male understudies are on tonight. Interesting.
There are four male cast members. Fernell, Michael, Justin and Steven. I hope they are okay, perhaps resting for opening tomorrow.
I don't think Justin is out tonight. Steven Boyer has been out since yesterday, and Michael was also out at today's matinee. Fernell's understudy had to take over mid-show this afternoon, so he would be the third out.
Was the press moved? There would have been 2 press performances today.
Nobody who's okay and just wants to rest takes off a performance the night before opening (a crucial press night), when the opening is above all a formality. Covid and other illnesses are making their way through many a New York company right now.
