If she's cast in the right role, that could be fun. Remember, nothing has been said that she's being cast in a musical -- and I'm fairly certain she cannot sing a note, so that's a good thing.
That being said: it's probably going to be Chicago: she couldn't possibly be worse then Brinkley.

And it's not like she's some flash in the pan, I became an "actress" by gaining my fame through reality TV type. She has had a long and fairly successful career.
Her work in Drop Dead Gorgeous alone is enough to make me want to see her in something on stage. I don't know if she can sing or not, but, as others have stated, just because she is planning a Broadway debut doesn't necessarily mean it will be in a musical.

Unless it was a Drop Dead Gorgeous musical.

"I have some Scientology jokes. Would you prefer those?"
Are they any more intelligent?
On topic, I wouldn't call Kirstie Alley a singer, but she can hold a note. If she's doing something like Mama Morton, she'll be fine.

Posted: 5/28/11 at 10:49amI can totally see her as Mama Morton- I don't want Dancing With The Stars, but I've heard good things about her- does she have the stamina to do Mrs. Wilkinson?

For those curious (and clueless) ones... here is Kirstie Alley, a few days ago in New York City.
She lost about 38 inches during her stint on ABC TV's DANCING WITH THE STARS plus she was already successfully losing weight prior to joining that show.

Let's face it, her weight has been in a constant state of flux for many years now. I get the sense that when she has a goal and/or purpose to keep the weight off (such as performing) she is fairly successful, but her drive to maintain that weight seems to die off when she has downtime.
That being said, she is not the first to use Dancing with the Stars to lose weight. The one season I actually had time to watch was when Joey Fatone was on and you could see the pounds dropping off with each week. I haven't seen him recently to know whether he has kept that weight off, but I think with cases like Fatone and now Kirstie Alley it hopefully will help send the message to those who are watching that exercise really is the best weight loss plan over any sort of fad diet.

Posted: 5/28/11 at 12:04pmAlley is completely mesmerizing as a dramatic actress. I pray her Broadway role is in a drama and not a musical comedy. And not because I don't think she can do comedy, but because it'd be a real treat to see her do a contemporary dramatic piece.
