Lincoln Center Theater will hold their annual spring Gala at the Vivian Beaumont Theater on May 18th with a staged concert performance of Man of La Mancha. Bartlett Sher is set to direct with internationally acclaimed tenor Rolando Villazón in the starring role of Don Quxiote.

I wonder if this could eventually lead to Bart’s next musical revival with LCT.
You're correct, this is the RAGTIME replacement whenever that might be, and it is likely to feature an all-Latino cast.
I would love to see Zoe Saldaña play Aldonza.

Oh, that’s really interesting casting! I’m very partial to Aldonzas who skew older (40–60). I’ve seen so many regional productions cast a bombshell in her twenties, and it always feels like a missed opportunity. I think the story is sadder and more beautiful when the Dulcinea illusion is projected onto a more worn, more weathered Aldonza.
I've always wanted to see Sara Ramirez, Uzo Aduba, Heather Headley, or Audra.

I continue to hope for a Bartlett Sher directed LCT revival starring Paulo Szot as Don Quixote, Kelli O’Hara as Aldonza, and Danny Burstein as Sancho Panza…

Would love to see a revival of this one! It’s been a little more than 25 years since last Broadway production.
I love this musical, but Rolando (who I adored in his prime) hasn’t been able to get through a performance in years, much less a full run, hence why he became a director.
Would love a Sher LC revival, I just can’t imagine a world where any producer or production company would bank on RV.

It's possible that Rolando wouldn't go on to star in a full fledged revival. Looking back at the cast list of LCT's 2019 gala presentation of Camelot, only two of them (Jordan Donica and Dakin Mathews) went on to reprise their roles in the Broadway run.

None of the characters in this musical are Latino…
If they stage a revival: Joshua Henry for Don Quijote please and thank you.
Although I can also see Bart casting Jordan Donica.

I would love to see a new version of La Mancha with a female director. Aldonza forward. Bart Sher directs shows in such an unimaginative way. We already know what that version will be. The material deserves someone more daring at its helm.
