Shut up Glory!
"Well said #1Elphie . Heres what I think. If people can't trust Anthony's word, who's will you trust? Possibly 5 out of 15 original cast members will take part in the movie, Columbus has already said he plans on staying true to Larson's vision, he could possibly hire the original director, choreographer etc, how can I ask for the intentions of the film to be any more secure than that?"
You're missing the point -- there's no need to trust ANYONE'S word as of October 2004. It's possible -- even wise -- to begin judging a film once it's (gasp!) actually completed and released in theaters.
Oh come on you guys I think he would get a kick out of it. He probably wouldn't read the entire thing, but I think it would be funny for him to see that that thread exists. Why must we all continue jumping to conclusions like this? Anthony didn't say he would tell them about the site, the other involved OBC members have yet to post anything, let alone go on a certain thread. Just CHILL okay?
I'm not mad at you, don't worry! I was kidding. You know what? Honestly, I'm sure most people have seen stumbled across these boards at one time or another... who knows? Maybe he's seen it. I do suppose he'd get a good laugh.

I'm in Salt Lake, and yes, I do have a show tonight, in a couple of hours...
And Evelyn --
I didn't post to stop debate or try to make everyone agree with me. I just wanted to share some perspective from the inside of this process. Hopefully I can alleviate some fears. I appreciate the passion and thought and care that you and everyone here show with all of your posts. And I agree that the film is far from in the can, and anything can happen in the meantime. But we're going to do our best to make it a good one.
I think I speak for all of us when I say I hope you'll be keeping us up to date on the film's progress when filming starts. (Even though I understand that you can't give away all the secrets to the movie.)
"I didn't talk to them about posting. Hmmm, maybe I should have? Thoughts?"
You know them better than we do! But sometimes people are wary of saying anything until the legendary dotted line has been signed. Nevertheless, we're all grateful for the information.
I know no one is mad I was just saying that they are people too we don't have to treat them like gods and act all different when we know they could be reading what we post. Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely thrilled to be 'speaking' with Anthony Rapp. If anyone else ends up coming to post, I'd like to think that they wouldn't spend the entire time on one thread. They are bound to find something embarrassing or stupid-fawning-broadway-fan-ish, so no need to go all spastic because there is little we can do to prevent that

I recognize your positive intentions. It's the fact that people are *instantly* won over by your efforts that's at issue here. To me, this is fundamentally the same as the way that Bush can go on a crusade against GLBT people and therefore revive national animosity toward those people almost overnight. At the macro or micro level, people should never be swayed so easily. (though admittedly, wanting to people to like a film is, er, much more noble than wanting them to hate a large community.)
