I imagine there will soon be a big full page critics ad in the print edition the NYT. I would appreciate it if anyone with access could post it here. I love those.
Here’s hoping Ryan Murphy gets Lea’s FUNNY GIRL filmed for Netflix. He obviously can fund the entire thing himself and now with the global success of DAHMER, anything he suggests to Netflix is his for the asking.

You speak, the world listens. Kind of like the wedding in the Hamptons. That was you, too, wasn't it? Could be prophetic. I love it, keeps life interesting.

This one is too logistically possible: Netflix has filmed live performances and Ryan Murphy’s projects for them are globally successful plus he’s close pals with Lea - even owning the rights to FUNNY GIRL at one point, so it’s all logical. Her critically praised performance in the musical adds even more to the quotient.

Completely agree. You know Broadway better than anyone. He wanted Ramin back in 2019, so the casting would be perfect for him. I think it would be a slam dunk, might even get me subscribing to Netflix.

Netflix has voiced no interest. Murphy has voiced no interest. No one from the production has voiced an interest. I'd be surprised if even Lincoln Center records this, and if they do, the only likely reason will be that they never got around to doing it earlier in the show's run.
This conversation is stan obsession at fever pitch.
While I don't think there has been any actual indication and it's a bit of a long shot.. I do think it'd be smart. Glee fans will eat it up and as much as some don't want to, musical theater fans also will. (Plus if I were Lea I'd be pitching it to Ryan Murphy, it's the best ending to this whole saga and her so-called renaissance)

Lea did just start a month ago and was absent for 10 days during COVID. So it’s still pretty early. Maybe a lot of the people in power haven’t even her performance yet. So I want to stay cautiously positive. Also I think they didn’t record Beanie’s version intentionally. I mean can you imagine the amount of criticism Beanie was gonna receive if they released her whole performance for the world to see…That would just be brutal and not good for the show.
I saw the show last night. Lea was sublime. The structure of the musical remains rather clunky. I would have done some cutting. Fierstein gave the character of Nick Arnstein more to do and it was unnecessary. I would have cut the Temporary Arrangement number which was rather silly. Ramin handled his last scene impressively and Lea was at her finest during The Music That Made Me Dance continuing through the end of the show. Who Are You Now was quite lovely. I would have thrown a little more money at the set and gotten rid of the white plastic flowers Lea carried through Don’t Rain On My Parade. They were cumbersome for her and they were handled as if they were artificial. She could have perhaps handed them off to someone. I started to giggle when she still had them during her Act 2 entrance. Mr. Grimes lacked some charisma (he seemed tired) but overall the cast seemed to work well together with special mention to Peter Francis James who gave Ziegfeld a creepy controlling quality. I see now that seats are going for double or triple the price, some close to one thousand dollars.

Resale tickets probably?
I heard Jonathan Groff went and audibly sobbed again last night!
They are not resale tickets. Just go to the web site and look at ticket prices. They are using SeatGeek. Some orchestra tickets for 1249.00. I paid 300 and I was in the front row.

They're resale. I believe the highest standard ticket price right now is $599.

SeatGeek (like TicketMaster) sells both regular priced tickets and resell tickets. The resell tickets have a disclaimer on them so buyer is aware they are resell tickets. The regular price is printed on those tickets.
Review: Lea Michele rides waves of love in Broadway’s ‘Funny Girl’
Come Tony Awards time next spring, the committee is going to have an issue. Lea Michele’s show-stopping lead performance in director Michael Mayer’s revival of “Funny Girl” will be a formidable competitor for best lead performance by an actress in a musical. But since she’s technically (and famously) a replacement for Beanie Feldstein in that same role, she won’t be eligible.

maybe a Special Tony could be in order for Lea, for adding luster to the broadway season (or however they worded it that time Barbra won her special one back in the day)
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
