I just heard that whoever is coming in has already been rehearsing for about 2 weeks now.  Curious if it’s another Lainie Kazan/Michelle Lee/SEESAW situation where Lainie was performing the show while behind-closed-doors Michelle Lee was rehearsing to replace her unbeknownst to Kazan.

Da plot thickens.

Hmm, the cat may be out of the bag? A theatre critic says it's Lea and Tovah Feldshuh (which kinda makes me wish it was Rachel Bloom in for Beanie instead! CEG reunion!):

The production may be planning on closing for a month before re-opening in September? Would make sense if they want to re-tool some things for Lea. (Not heard anywhere, just speculation)

Where on earth are you seeing that?

If they have Jane Lynch, they might as well put Benko on for the month of August. It is possible to retool things in rehearsals and implement them into the show once Lea joins, or take off half a week of performances to implement new design elements and do some new teching.

Interesting. I thought of Tovah a couple weeks ago when the casting of Lea was rumored, but I figured she was too old. She won’t take any cr*p backstage, that’s for sure.

Beanie is slated to appear on The Tonight Show this Wednesday. This was scheduled before the sky started falling on the production.

Wonder if she'll still appear. Would be quite the hot seat!

I don't see her booked for the Tonight Show, but Late Night with Seth Meyers is running a rerun of her previous appearance in June.

As stated above, it's Seth Meyers not The Tonight Show. And it's a rerun.

Adding salt to the wound, I was watching ABC this morning, and they played an ad with pull quotes praising Beanie. It just seems so awkward now. I do feel bad because she was good in Hello, Dolly! But, I realize Minnie Fay and Fanny Brice are not in the same category as far as roles go.
