The Funny Girl IG already changed their icon to a Funny Girl logo without Beanie's face.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife

A lot of the merch doesn’t have the art with Beanie’s face, but I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot of it at this year’s flea market (if it’s not destroyed lol).
Well they didnt push Beanie out because of low sales only to have Julie Benko take over for a month leading up to Lea Michele. And why is Jane Lynch leaving early--- pointedly NOT sharing a stage with Lea?
God knows Lea can sing it, and I'm a huge Tovah fan (talk about stage presence, wit) but this is all so messy and weird.
“Michele is often credited as reintroducing the show to an entire generation of musical theatre fans due to her Glee character Rachel Berry's series-long obsession with the show's original star, Barbra Streisand.”

She does deserve the criticism because she proved that she cannot sustain what it takes to be a Broadway performer. Her lack of vocal talent is not the only problem. It seems her dedication to her fellow cast members and the ticket paying audiences is sorely lacking, not to mention the people who invested money into this project. There are certain actors who are not meant to be stars of LIVE theater, they can excel in small secondary parts, they can excel on film/tv when they can do ten takes of each line, She has proven to be one of those to me."
Did she ever miss a performance during Dolly? Geez, people are cruel and unforgiving around here.
Though it wasn't revealed, I hope Julie Benko is recognized as an official alternate.
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
Having Julie Benko officially take over for Thursdays makes me wonder even more if this was part of Beanie's wanting to leave earlier-- some people speculated that Beanie was leaving early because Lea was available to start in August (despite having her tour), but the one-month gap in between makes me wonder if the production was planning to have Beanie and Julie officially share the role until Lea came on board. I know Beanie has been absent a lot and would probably prefer not to have to do 8 shows a week, but there's a difference between having to call out a lot and hearing people talk about how great her alternate is and how they recommend people see her scheduled shows rather than Beanie.
I am not a Lea Michele fan, but I do think it was very shrewd to have her prominently feature in all that Spring Awakening Anniversary stuff/ Tony performance when Funny Girl didn't feature in the Tonys-- it was very well-timed.
No tea there? Lynch was supposed to leave September 25 (as was Beanie). Now Beanie is leaving early, and Lynch's former co-star is joining---but suddenly Lynch, too, is headed for the exit before she starts. LOTSA tea there.
Is there an official press release? I see Benko will play the role until Michele starts.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

But this will be fabulous. Too bad the actual production is still the same, ha."
Creative team is restructuring the show and new costumes and choreography are being designed. They’re readdressing the issues and trying to salvage this revival.

She did. And then her other brother passed away and she was off then as well. Lets wish this young lady well. Know one really knows what was going on. I would love a Ryan Murphy miniseries that covers everything with this production. And a main part of the story should be the social media hoopla. With the tik tok so called “content creeators” and the BWW yentas. getting their due.
