Surprized that with the strike and popularity of the reality TV show and the musical that a major network didn't grab this up.

This is the future of Broadway. Kinda sad. You can either bust your hump your whole life working up to the day you get a lead in a Broadway musical or get a shot through a contest. "Omigod, totally awesome." Elle is a demanding role with a lot of singing and dancing and requires a pro who has a lot of experience in doing 8 shows a week with such demands. A novice will really have a hard time with the role I think. We shall see.

I'll reserve my opinion on the actual FACT this is happening. But I really cannot help feeling like this is a slap in the face to Laura Bell Bundy, and the cast (may be water off their backs at this point though). Moreover, the glory and honor and history of performing at The Palace...

I liked the show. I wont see it again I don't think. I feel this will just wear out the musical real fast. It would have been good idea for them to cast the Elle for the touring show. That would give it publicity to every city it goes to and sell tickets.
Broadway Shows I've Seen: Hairspray, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors (2003), The Wedding Singer, Spamalot, Riverdance, Rent, Beauty and the Beast, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera, Sweet Charity (revival), Drowsy Chaperone, The Lion King, Dreamgirls(2010 Tour).
i love this how but i rather see an understudy take the role as elle woods after laura bell bundy leaves. i dont like the mtv casting the next elle. I want becky gulsvig to be the next woods, elle!!!!!!! she def deserves it, and this sounds like nbc casting danny and sandy.
I hope it's more like, say, America's Next Top Model than You're the One that I Want. I want to see them living together, catfights, etc. That way it'll at least be entertaining.
Even though I absoulutely LOVE this musical, the thought of a reality show/contest annoys me. I don't think I'm in the mood to watch thousands of "Elle Wood" wannabes" on the screen.
I'm a bit upset. I mean honestly Broadway always seemed so untouched by TV and contests and reality shows. NOW it's really starting to annoy me because there are so many talented actors in NYC who can actually sing, act, and dance that are more than qualified for the job...and they have to give the role to some smuck who's never done a play in their life. It's ridiculous!!
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

LBB contract was going to be up this February but she recently extended with I believe most of the leading cast till July.

The thought of having reality television fans all across America casting shows on Broadway that we all love makes me sick. People (myself included) have and are working their entire lives...training...taking private voice lessons, dance classes, acting coaching sessions...all in hopes that one day they'll be able to perform on a Broadway stage. And The Palace is such a historical and amazing theatre to perform in. To have today's society and media go and crap on what people like us work our whole lives for is just ridiculous.
Sorry...I'm a little passionate when it comes to stuff like this.

This fall, MGM continues its girl empowerment franchise, releasing Legally Blondes, a new movie for the home entertainment marketplace starring Camilla Rosso and Rebecca Rosso as the British twin cousins of Elle Woods who move to Los Angeles to attend high school.
it was in the middle of the article. thank god its just going straight to video and not to cinemas.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree. ~Dirty Rotten Scoundrels~
There's a special kind of people known as show people. We live in a world full of dreams. Sometimes we're not too certain what's false and what's real. But we're seldom in doubt about what we feel. ~Curtains~
