Anyway, with Becky gone, is Kate Rockwell the only Elle cover for the time being, since Becky's track is being covered by a swing for awhile?

asmeret!brooke and tiffany!pilar tonight!!!
i thought asmeret's brooke was actually quite lovely. her voice sounded far stronger than it does in her pilar track, and she only tripped on the jump rope once. she did nicolette's push-ups after the song finished, but had a few great lines - namely - 'come on ladies, do you think i woke up with this ass' ...all in all i'd say she was pretty great.
laura bell actually sounded remarkably good. she seemed to be on pitch and having fun on the stage but not making a mockery of the show. the girls all really looked like they were enjoying themselves tonight.
i sat behind a brunette who i believe is tracy jai's sister...i've seen her at the show a couple times before and thought she was tracy jai's sister and then overheard a woman telling her how it must be so exciting to have her sister in a broadway show..she seems absolutely lovely, although i can't imagine growing up with tracy jai as an older sister is easy. she's a pretty girl, but it's hard to be as pretty as tracy jai. she seemed to really love the show and the cast all seemed happy to see her afterwards.
rod was back in the show, with an insert in the playbill welcoming him back to the cast. his replacement (something with a j?) was still in the show however, so i was confused.
AND - the door didn't come up with christian during 'legally blonde' and laura bell had to sing a verse of the old lyrics from san francisco to buy time until it finally came up. quite comical but she handled it so well.
all in all, one of the better peformances i've seen.

I'm surprised Laura even remembered the old lyrics. I REALLY want to see Asmeret as Brooke so if anyone..... Also YAY for Rod being back!!

She's planned going on again next month, I can't wait!!
And yes can we please discuss LBB's vamping during Legally Blonde tonight? There was a gaping hole where the door with Christian should have been, and so what did she do? She crossed the stage and just kept singing. It was GENIUS!!

It was a brilliant cover, and yet afterwards the only thing I could think was "there's no way any of those MTV girls would have been able to do that *that* smoothly." Yes, people have to vamp and ad lib and cover and whatnot all the time in this business, such is the beauty in live theatre, but I just don't feel that confidence in ownership of that role and that command of the stage coming from any of the MTV girls, even accounting for MTV's editing practices, like I've felt from LBB from the start. *shrug*
And then at the end of Legally Blonde LBB was possibly the weepiest I've ever seen, and almost couldn't get out and choked on the last "just let me be," and it made that number even more brilliant.

Really Anakela because any and every time I've seen the show, LBB is so "choked up" she can barely get out the last line of the ballad. That pretty much applies to most of her performance in general.

I mis Beth too!
i dont think she is on the cast list anymore, or at least she has not been. She was originally to be out for 3 months at the beginning of may. that 3 months should be almost over if she is coming back.

I dislike the reality contestants as much as anyone, but let's remember...LBB is a lot more familiar with the role of Elle Woods than those girls are. She's played it almost two years at this point. I would expect her to be better able to come up with an ad-lib than them.

I actually happen to agree with Anakela. LBB seemed genuinely upset at the end of 'legally blonde' not just the usual too-emotional-to-get-through-the-show. It seemed like she was really trying hard to step-up her performance since it's so close t the end.

i've seen her too! I always thought she was Tracy Jai's sister but I was too nervous to ask! I'd have such a little-sister complex if I was her. Totally agree with you shootingstar, it has to be tough. She's always so full of smiles when I've seen her at the show though, she's a good sister to sit through that show more than a few times, especially lately.

That's funny... the last time I saw the show she was one of the very few who DID stage door. Literally the only ones who stagedoored were Becky Gulsvig (the Elle u/s on that night), Gaelen (the Vivienne u/s on that night), Kate, and a bunch of random ensemble peeps (sorry, I haven't seen the show enough times to recognize all the ensemble, just principals). The stagedoor line was SUPER long that night, but she was super nice, was talkative, taking pictures, and went down the whole line not missing a single person.

that's so funny because on Friday night I saw her bolt out of the stage door, and rush past the line, which wasn't even painfully long. She did, however, stop and wave to Tracy Jai's little sister (I was standing at the end of the line and Tracy Jai and her sister were standing near the Doubletree) and ask her how she was doing and if she had fun at the show. But then she kept running, even after she had walked out with 3 of the other delta nu girls who all stopped to sign. I just thought it was kind of weird.
I wonder if LBB will make it through all 8 shows this week. Or I guess I should say, make it TO all 8 shows...

love_the_leprechauns i COMPLETELY AGREE! I saw that too and was so confused because Kate clearly looked like she was in a rush, and then managed to have time to stop and chat with Tracy's little sister. She didn't even look friendly as she was leaving the stage door yet she turned on the charm for Tracy's sister. I guess it would've really looked bad for her if she didn't.
I still really like the girl who replaced Gaelen. I don't know her name but she was great and so great at stage door. The lady who works at the door introduced her to Tracy's sister and had a big laugh about it. They are quite a bunch at that show!

Was she wearing turquoise shorts at the show on Friday night? I was there and I saw her too! I want to meet her, all the cast talks to her for so long after she signs! And I couldn't believe Kate Rockwell would just blow past the line and then stop and wave and ask her how she was! I almost stopped Kate and asked her to sign my playbill just because she was standing there and I've never gotten her autograph. Tracy's little sister shot RIGHT up at the curtain call when the PMS girls came out to bow, it was really cute! I think their nose is the give-away that they're related. And the hair. And the way they act together *laughs at her own little joke*
