well, i'd like to thank everyone for the updates since i aksed thespian the 'dish' last night. i had a groovy time at WS in May and saw everyone, no understudies.

i'm takin' my partner and mom to see it 11/12. it should make it through the end of 2006. i cannot fathom them not milking the use of this american idol kid to bridge this end-of Sept. gap. I think they have him doing press everywhere. LOL i also cannot imagine them NOT stretching thru the rough patch to be SURE that WS is around to rake in some serious holiday profits from the tourist trade.

i will also say that when i got tkts. thru the latest "Sept. lag" discount offer ('ya gotta LOVE those Sept. lag discount offers!! LOL), people must have hopped on it. they were selling seats through January, and the pickins were VERY slim...so much so that I couldn't locate decent seats for us 3 until mid-November.

this show is a HUGE tourist commodity (given that many seem to have vaguely heard of the Sandler film and love those raz-ma-tazzy upbeat musicals.) also, it's about weddings and people always LOVE a good wedding onstage. and doesn't this show offer like 40 weddings? lol so, give it another week or so before the tourist trade begins buying again for the holidays. also, the brokers will probably be able to move blocks when groups soon begin booking holiday theater trips. also this american idol kid may help move more tkts. than expected. Wedding Singer's producer Margo Lion, who produced HAIRSPRAY, is plugging away.

Let's all just think lovely thoughts. I am sure Margo also has another ace or two up her sleeve and that it will at least have a swell run to the end of this year. re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.

So I won 2 tickets from the Flea Market for the show tomorrow night, and I was already planning to go get rush with my friends. Does anyone want 2 orchestra seats for tomorrow night, same price as rush?

You can give them to me instead, if you want. No big deal. re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.

Word has it that Constantine shot a cover for the Village Voice yesterday. I don't know when the issue will be out, though.

I saw the show on Saturday! Wow, it was just perfect, I loved it before, but this is seriously one of my favorite favorite shows now. The whole cast was perfect and I can't imagine anyone else as these characters (well except for Constantine.. he didn't impress me that much). I was a little iffy about seeing Tina at first, because I really wanted to see Laura. But WOW, I'm SO happy I got to see Tina! She was incredible. Stephen had great chemistry with her! I loovedd it. Amy Spanger... oh my gosh, she's pretty much my new hero. Her voice sounded a little deeper, and I heard she's just gotten bronchitis, but I wouldn't have known! She's extremely sweet too! The rest of the cast was AMAZING aswell, but I think Tina, Stephen and Amy were the standouts for me!

And wow, was the stagedoor a mosh pit before Constantine got there? Me = not tall, so I had to literally jump to see the cast. It was MOBBED, and I'm guessing a lot of them were Constantine fans, I had people pushing me trying to see him, and these little girls behind me freaking out over him. I got everyone's autograph but Felicia (who I REALLYY wanted to meet), Kevin, and Rita. I pretty much got everyone else's by like, throwing the playbill over like 5 people's heads though. But I got to meet Amy and Tina! I had to literally chase them though, I couldn't get through the crowd, haha! As I said before, Amy and Tina = extremely sweet! I was so happy I got to meet them, I'm never gonna forget it :) But yeah, that was a really great night, 3 days later and I'm still on a high from it!

And one more thing, are Tina's shoes supposed to fly off during Not That Kind of Thing? haha.

i am so glad you enjoyed the show! it is really awesome!
anyways, that is funny about Tina's shoes! it is not supposed to happen, but people have reported that its happened a few times :P
but glad you got to meet everyone, and see the show
but did you see Felicia come out of the stage door, and you just couldnt get her, or did you not see her? i didnt see her come out of the stage door when i saw the show, so i was just wondering!
:)

Thanks for your review ShowOff. There seems to be a bigger and bigger crowd at the stage door no matter what night of the week it is. I just think the bigger the buzz the better for the show.

The Village Voice, yes he said it in an interview today. He's just done a cover. I wish I knew when it was coming out.

I the interviews he did nationally today, he talked about how excited he is to be in the Wedding Singer and how wonderful the cast is and how lucky he is to be working with them. Said he thought the mullet was going to come back in style. NO!!!

I want to see her shoes fly off! Maybe tomorrow night when I am there.

I just walked by the theater on my way home, and Richard was outside the stage door just chilling between scenes. (long break between Pop and What Up Mo Fos!

re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.

Haha yeah, I figured they just slipped off!
Yeah I only got to actually MEET Amy and Tina, unless screaming "thank you" at the rest of the cast for signing my playbill counts, LOL. But I saw everyone, my mom got a picture of Felicia signing. I tried to call to her when she was about to go back inside but there was no way she could have heard me over that mosh pit, so she went back in lol. So thats my only picture of Felicia :P
