TWS is one of my favorite movies so I knew I'd love the musical pretty much no matter what, just because it's TWS. And I was right! It's just such a fun show; I love how they capture every different style of 80's music. It all sounds very authentic. I usually listened to it while doing homework and taking text notes for the summer course I took.
RE: FELICIA'S RIB
I stagedoored after the show and while talking to Felicia I mentioned that I had been at the show on Wednesday night too and that, although I enjoyed Nicolette, I missed seeing her as Linda. Felicia pulls an ace bandage out of her bag and says "this is why I was out." I asked her what she did, and she told me that she broke her rib at the Tonys and that she's been performing with it but she has good days and bad days with it which is why she's been in and out of the show. (Personally, I can't believe that she manages to do that role with a broken rib at all.)
Felica is a super trooper!
So, how was Tina at the matinee?
Great! She seems to be getting more and more into the groove of the role. She's adorably dorky onstage and incredibly sweet offstage.
Dorky? How about quirky?
OMG poor Felicia!
muscle- Don't get hysterical. Do you need me to bitch slap you to calm you down?
Don't go killing David Josefsberg for breaking Felicia's rib now, muscle!
...Wait, crap. I probably shouldn't have admitted that David's the one that did it, hm? Oh well... :p
Well, it could've been Matthew Stocke who broke her rib too, remember.
It really depends on if you want to see Kevin Kern go on as Billy Idol or as David Fonda. :-P
... Um..
MATT STOCKE BROKE FELICIA'S RIB. GO GET HIM, MUSCLE. GRRR.
I must admit... I just got the CD. I was not real keen on it until I heard the whole thing in context
Certainly a fun show. If one takes it with a grain of salt... and does't expect LES MIZ... it'll grow on you
I obviously don't know what the intention was in regards to the show and it was intended to be taken, but I agree. I think the problem with people not liking this show is they take it too seriously. I think more of a Grease and Crybaby-ish sort of take on this show, you know? It's a fun, good-time and be happy show that makes light-hearted jabs at an era no one over the age of 30 cares to remember. Haha.
Does Matthew Stocke normally play Billy Idol and is that him in the Modern Bride spread dressed as Idol? Thanks!
Wait, David did it? *confused*
I made it to the show today. David was a great Sammy, and Cara was wonderful as Holly.
Yes and yes.
Hey Elph...was one of those "yes" for me?
Matt is Billy Idol in the MB shoot and, I can't remember where it was stated, but someplace said "Tina's dance partner at the Tony's" is who injured her. Well, she dances a lot with David so I assumed it was him, but she does dance with Matt Stocke toward the end of the number, too. So it could have been either one.
SCB, both of those yeses were for you, the post in between ours wasn't there when I clicked reply.

Was at the show today. Cara and David were both wonderful. I finally saw Felicia and she was great as well.
I have no absolute "official" confirmation on this or anything, but word has it Stephen will be out of the show sometime in September. Just thought I'd mention it.
I had a great time at this show!
"Broadway Beat" just re-aired their "Wedding Singer" Opening Night episode.
It will remind all how much fun the show really is; what its intention is, and hopefully bring another 'new' audience in to see it.
Certainly, not the best show in town, but not the worst...
It is VERY far from being one of the worst shows. Sometimes people just want to go to the theatre to be entertained, that's why i think this is the best new show of the season. It's a musical about love, and I love it!
Sorry, Muscle23ftl, I didn't mean to sound smarmy or anything. I really had a great time with the show and tell everyone to see it!

Saw the show again on Saturday night!!! It was AMAZING!!
I don’t know who else went to TWS that night as well? Laura was on and she looked really great! Didn’t look like sick. And I have to say: I’ve seen the show many times and listen to “If I Told You” for many times. At that night, when she was singing “If she can. Tell her hoooooow”, my tears suddenly dropped from my eyes!! I don’t know why! That’s really interested and strange, because this thing never happened before.
Finally saw Cara as Holly. To be honest, she was a very different version of Holly. Has different humor and different interpretation. But please tell me if I was wrong. I felt she was losing some notes in the beginning of “Saturday Night In The City” and “Right In Front Of Your Eyes”, aside from this, I think she was really great that night! As for David, he was funnier than I thought as Sammy and his voice was great!
Stephen…Stephen…always as expected and unexpected. Always being sooooo great as expected and always having some amazing NEW things as unexpected.
So…it was my last time to see TWS in this summer, Wedding Singer~I’ll see you in this autumn. And again~ people! Please share your great experience of TWS here as much as you can!
