I saw it once when Tina forgot her purse for Not That Kind of Thing, and Stephen was laughing about his line "And it doesn't match my jacket" bc he didn't have purse. Ha.
For whoever was wondering what happened to Adam Zotovich a few weeks back in this thread, he's back in the show in T. Oliver's track with Eric on as Fake Mr. T. He'll be on for another 2 weeks while they find someone to replace T. Oliver who's more appropriate for that track.
So is Adam an on-again-off-again person with this show or something? LOL
I finally got to see the show! I got to go Saturday night. I saw the zipper incident. I thought maybe it was part of the show for a sec and then when I realized Tina was losing it, well, they all did a good job of the show must go on.
I loved this show. I want to go back again and again. It was hilarious. The place was pretty much sold out Saturday. There were not many empty seats on the floor. I was happy about that.
Of course, being a fan of Constantine, I got to say, it made me feel very happy to see the audience's positive reaction to his performance. Naturally, I thought he was wonderful, but I am biased. I had to hear it from other people who aren't "his" fans. The audience gave him a lot of love. Joy!
I loved the entire cast. Everyone is so talented.

Too funny!
Before anyone does any hardcore freaking out over the grosses last week, keep in mind that that time of the year is hard on EVERY show - look at everyone elses grosses. Every show (save for Kiki & Herb.. I think) went down, and most went down a severe amount.

I would have been hysterical if I saw that
EDIT: (About the grosses) What a bad week, ouch!

Silver lining for the grosses?
Hairspray outsold Wedding Singer by less than 100 seats.

another silver lining is that THE PRODUCERS did like had like 10% lower average attendance
:)

That is NO silver lining. So a different show will close and put people out of work.
And I can pretty much guarantee that The Producers will outlive Wedding Singer for at least another year. They're waiting for Young Frankenstein.

I saw the show on Sunday and I have to say I enjoyed Constantine (even though he creeps me out) I missed Matthew a lot though. One interesting little part was after A Note From Linda when Constantine goes over to take the mic from the priest he looks at the priest and says something along the lines of "Oh hey father you know that thing that happened with me and you when I was a kid..I hardly think about it anymore" My friends and I didn't know what to do except gasp and have our jaws hit the ground. Tracees face showed complete shock. It was the last thing I ever expected. It was a great show as always and I loved Kevin's Robbie. He was so on point..it was great

that is quite funny
:P
OH MY GOD. LMAO. That's a completely different ad-lib than when I saw Constantine! He said "Hey, Father. How's it goin'? How're the kids?" Which I thought was funny enough... but WOW. Sounds like Constantine's getting a bit riskier. *Snort*

HAHAHA, im so glad constantine is doing better than i thought he would!!! YAY!!!! he seems like a pro already, lol.
On Saturday, he said the line, "You know that thing I told you about, it cleared up." I think his timing is pretty good. He got a lot of laughs.
Not as many as the zipper oops that night.
I need to come see the show again.
Is Constantine just saying a different ad-lib every night? LMAO. I love it. Wow. Keeping that scene on its toes, I guess!
Haha, oh Constantine.
I was curious where I could find an updated, current cast list and/or an understudy list. Thanks.
As for the grosses, I think perhaps there is a typo in here. How often would two totally different shows (The Producers and The Wedding Singer) have exactly the same attendance, and be listed one line above the other? I think that perhaps the attendance number for The Wedding Singer is wrong, just carried over from the line above. I think I'll email the League and ask them to double check that one figure.......
As for Constantine's ad-libbing, he's a funny guy... I'm not surprised at all....

lol...the ad-lib thing is so funny! it definitely will keep people guessing each show which one he'll say, or what new comment he might come up with.
during the idol tour, i heard he would appear on stage each night wearing some gift a fan had given him a few hours before in those meet and greets. (tee shirt, hat, etc.) he seemed to be having fun with it, and the fans were in heaven.
if only I was witty enough (where's a comedic edge when you need it) i would so think of a "father" comment to send him and hope it would be fun/good enough that he would ACTUALLY choose to use it in that spot...during one of the shows?!?!
MY input in THE WEDDING SINGER, on BROADWAY.....
it would be totally wild and yes, OMG...I WOULD DIE!!
I was there on Sunday, and personally, I thought the comment to the priest was out of line. It wasn't funny, and you could tell he LITERALLY just thought of it on the spot, as he stumbled over himself in the sentence. Adding certain things into that spot can be funny ("Hey father - how're the kids?" is hysterical, IMO), but it has to be rehearsed enough to sound real, and it shouldn't take away from the joke of the scene - I personally thought his ad lib took away from his speech as to what happened with Linda.

I thought it was hilarious.
Adlibbing, by definition, IS literally thinking up something on the spot.
