Aww, I hope they put back Wild Life, really loved that song
At intermission and I agree with everything pretty much EPDD has stated. Tons of energy, colorful, and witty. I do agree Wild Life was a better opening number. I had heard after openin night in DC they were considering redoing Wild Life but it is now completely removed which is a shame. Things are a lot smoother here. Till Someone Gets Hurt has been completely rewritten and reconceptualized and is now a Britney Spears with backup dancer-esque number. Still don’t care for the song that much. Audience is giving tons of energy and the cast is feeding off of it and really loving it. The opening with Janis and Damian is no longer a Friendship Seminar as it was in DC, it’s more like as already stated, a guitar song to reintroduce the “cautionary tale” which is also reprised at the end of Fearless. Adding the scene at the end of Fearless with Cady and Regina really sets up things well for Act Two and leaves us wanting more.

Intermission. Karen is spot on, Damian and Janice are also really good. The voices are all great but a lot of it feels over acted. The first 90 mins felt longer than 4 hours of Angels.
It felt long but not THAT long. It felt longer in DC. Sound is mostly crisp with the bandand lighting are great. Love the projections, but still always favor practical sets (the main reason Is see something like SpongeBob which has a very unique set),

2nd half was a lot better. Really liked Janice’s song after the trust falls and the “Stars” song at the end.
Still a lot of songs with lyrics that seemed to have no meaning. Cady was much too dorky in the beginning. She could be more “normal” and still be uncool.
Couldn’t stand Gretchen. Pull it back.
I was confused about the time period. Stylistically it felt very 90’s, but the mention of cell phones was much too over the top. We get it, cell phones and social media blah blah blah. Trim it down.
The audience ate it up. It’s always fun to be with a crowd who is so into it, and I know the movie by heart which is why I’m probably so critical.
Just got back! I had a great time. It is a fun night at the theatre! I think what really made the show was the palpable energy from the audience. We all honestly ate it up.
As a first preview, it didn’t seem like one. Nothing seemed to go wrong and the cast was ON FIRE! Kate Rockwell and Ashley Park had the audience eating out of their hands. Tina Fry’s book is great, I was literally laughing the entire time. The songs were good, most not memorable, but they were good. I left the theatre humming that revenge party song. Act 1 felt a little long and parts Act 2 kinda felt rushed.
I’d love to see it again after it officially opens to see the changes, if any, they made.
Eager to hear which Tony categories people think this might score nominations.
I’d be curious to see if they try to put Taylor with Erika for lead, sound and lights, for sure... featured actress may have a lot of eligible ones with this show... Ashley, Kate, Barrett, Kerry... Grey has the best shot at a featured actor nomination. Choreography was inventive and was a nice blend of musical theatre, hip hop, etc.
Do we see this being a big hit? I hate all the projections and set design. Looks like something for a concert. Wonder why they went with that concept.

In the show, it works very very well. I'm a huge fan of the concept

The projections actually worked pretty well. The stage felt a little empty at times, that’s all.

In terms of sales, yes, definitely. Check out a few random dates on Ticketmaster. It’s selling unbelievably well. Even I was surprised how it’s doing.

Video of the bows!
What on earth is going on with Erika's wig? It looks crazy here. In D.C., it looked very natural.

Two questions -
Is the stage high?
And, which row is front row of the orchestra?
What's the merch like? On instagram, I'm seeing "FETCH" hats that look like the "A. HAM" hats from Hamilton. Blegh. Anything else?
So annoyed with all of the music changes. I thought that the songs were outstanding in DC. I thought Wild Life, Bossed Up, and Here were perfect

I agree!
Wildlife, Bossed Up and Here were just fine.
Why did they keep Whose House Is This?

From what I could tell it looked less high than GHD and also the pit is cenfer orch so the first row isn’t as close to the stage as GHD was.
Anyone win the digital lottery for this? Curious as to where the seats are located.
I won the in-person lottery and I believe the entire first row ( Row A) is for the lottery (including digital lottery). It says partial view on the ticket, but I could actually see the whole stage and act pretty well.
They also placed gift bags on all of the first-row lottery seats, which were tote bags with one other merch, and a message card hand-written by a cast member inside. A very nice surprise!
I really enjoyed the show and I like the set design a lot (especially the back screen). The songs are okay but not very memorable; there's no song list on the Playbill so.... Did not get the chance to see it in DC so I'm very curious about those songs that got cut. Overall, a great first preview.

It is a preview, so... that's kind of the point, to try stuff before you can't, no?

Did a lot of people show up for the in person lottery?
