NOOOO.
I hope they've worked on it since the most recent attempt.
Off-Broadway, sure. NUNSENSE: THE BROADWAY MUSICAL, up in lights....I don't think so. I saw a producton of it and to mee it screams off broadway. Not cut out for B'way.
Sorry, Nunsense. Not yet.
...Is that assuming that GLORY DAYS is going to flop?

Here's my cast:
Rev. Mother - Patricia Routledge
Sister Hubert - Lilias White
Sister Robert Anne - Sara Ramirez
Sister Amnesia - Kristin Chenoweth
Sister Mary Leo - Mara Davi

The touring version that played here years ago worked wonderfully in out 3,000 seat theater, so I don't see why it couldn't work on Broadway. But it would have to have a fantastic cast. If they could get Rue McClenanhan who did the DVD, it would be GREAT.

Wow Gotham...I hope that's a joke. Cause none of them are right...aside from maybe Routledge.
Why not? GODSPELL is about as Off Broadway as you can get and that's headed for Broadway.
If we have to have an Off-Broadway nun ON Broadway, why not revive Christopher Durang's "Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You"?
Dan Goggin needs to be stopped. How many of those things has he written so far?
And it will take more than just a stake through his heart. We'll have to also cut off his head and stuff his mouth with rosemary...
The first was the best all the others were just rehashes of the same theme.
please let this be an april's fool
please

Routledge as Rev. Mother is an inspired choice *if* it was ever to happen. :)
I love that Christopher Durang play, sondeimboy2. I know that would never happen, but I love the suggestion...

Have you ever seen the show or the actors I mentioned?
What's wrong with Lilias White as Hubert? Do you know who she is?
Kristin Chenoweth as Sister Mary Amnesia would be awesome!

Gotham-
Yes, I have on both accounts. But, that would be *too* much Diva for one show.

That's the point of putting the show on Broadway. If a producer follows the recent "Steel Magnolias" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" models and puts a diva in every role, it sells more tickets and opens up the chances to get more Tony nominations. Nunsense costs virtually nothing to produce: one very basic set, five actresses. A producer can throw a ton of money into star power and get a nice profit.

Except the "Steel Magnolias" revival was pretty awful across the board.
Just because they are names, and might play the role well, doesn't mean they will all work together.

White did Hubert on the DVDs with McClenahan and the two together are wonderful.
Why? This show sucks donkey dicks.

No, that was Terri White, not Lilias.
I just talked to Dan Goggin, the Writer/Creator of Nunsense and he told me there is no talk of this whatsoever. They are however looking at going into an OFF-Broadway space in the near future. So don't panic everyone... and leave Glory Days alone.
