The Parent Trap - but finding triple threat 13-16 year old twins might be hard.

In my opinion, there are so many Disney movies that have great potential to make it on broadway. I love Aladdin, but I think it might be hard to pull it off on stage. It'd be really cool to see, though! I would like to see one of the classics, like Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, or Alice in Wonderland! Pocohontas would be really good too! What can I say...I love Disney! Haha.
The Aladdin stage show in Disney's California Adventure is good... and definetly shows that the musical translates to the stage. However, several changes would need to be made for it to be a broadway show.
On the other hand, the Snow White show in Disneyland a year or so ago - was a bust. It was more like a kid-act you find in any theme park, versus a play - and I think was like 30 minutes long (at the most)

I think that "Hunchback" should be the next Disney show. It has great music, and is tells a really great story.
However, "The Little Mermaid" will be the next Broadway musical. Which should be interesting.
"Hercules" is not a bad idea. Susan Egan is to old to play Megera. My vote would be for O'Hara or perhaps Brown. The Muses would be killer. With the right five girls, they could be great.

EMPERORS NEW GROOVE!!!! haha jk. i just love that movie
i dont understand why no one mentioned this, but im gunna say it its prolly a bad idea but i think TOY STORY would be amazing! maybe like putting both movies together (because we all know that the second one is best)
i want you and nothing but you. miles and piles of you...finally ill have something to think of each morning....
Why *hasn't* Hunchback been brought to Broadway yet? I mean, it made its world premiere in Berlin and then there was also a production done in Paris. Why not NYC yet?
Of course I'm going to say, if it DOES come to Broadway, Drew Sarich needs to reprise his role as Quasi without a doubt.
I saw the Aladdin show at Disneyland and it was atrocious. Not only did the show break down but the carpet broke down also. Nothing worked right AND when they did the Prince Ali sequence, the dancers were lipsynching. The reason I know is that one of the dancers passed by me and you heard nothing coming out yet there were people singing in the background. TACKY.
I think Hercules should be the next musical. Nothing like a big bobble of black Muses to cheer everyone up.
"Isn't it strange that we spend most of our time learning to do what they put people in asylums for." - Jane Fonda on Acting
Little Mermaid with Ashley Brown. Or her as Megara in Hercules. But no mulan! that would be hard, but we are talking about disney. Hunchback should open.
Let us milk the cow that is theatre-Monica Trausch
I saw Hunchback in Berlin and while I think it was a great idea, and the new music was beautiful, the staging was rather dull. After the first 15 minutes or so, you've seen basically everything the show has to offer: hydraulic blocks and projections. The cathedral interior was gorgeous and the gargoyle costumes were stunning (one of the gargoyles was changed to a female character), but that was about it. I would love to see the show on Broadway, but completely restaged. Given the fact that they reverted back to the original ending, I think it really has potential to be a hit musical.

Footlooser: Have you heard Michael Crawford and Sherie Renee Scott's rendition of "If I Never Knew You"? Even though I'm not a big Michael Crawford fan, it's amazing.
Anyway... I have nothing against Disney shows, unless they take away the Tony from a more deserving show (coughLionKingandRagtimecough)
Hercules would be good because it has EXCELLENT music, even though I hate how they bastardized Greek mythology with it, heh. I bet "Go the Distance" would be amazing when sung by a Broadway actor: Lea Salonga's rendition gives me chills! But I think Hunchback would be great too. That score is one of the best in Disney IMO. And, actually, I think Pocahontas would work too. I have the Stephen Schwartz Album which has Broadway singers singing Pocahontas songs (Sara Ramirez sings "Colors of the Wind" and Christiane Noll singing "Just Around the Riverbend" and they sound really good. Actually, the album also has Broadway singers doing songs from Hunchback as well )
As for Aladdin, yes all the way! There's already a stage version somewhere IIRC.
I don't think Mulan would work though just because of the fight scenes. I mean, how would they do the avalanche part? Heh.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
