What do you think will be next? Hunchback? Something completely different?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I actually don't believe Hunchback is being produced by Disney given that it hasn't been billed as Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The reason for that very well may be the material not being as family-friendly.
With that said, I could definitely see it taking the Nederlander in the fall.

...y'all know this isn't DISNEY's Hunchback, and just Hunchback, right? Makes for a very different conversation here.
It is produced in special arrangement by Disney Theatrical, not BY DTP.

I dont see Hunchback opening at the Neaderlander in the fal for 3 reasons.
1) Hunchback is a tough sell, and It will likley need the critical praise and award season to make the show profitable, so a Spring opening is mire likely.
2)Hamilton's shadow. If Hunchback opens in the fall, it will likley be the first musical to open after Hamilton, so comparisons will be inevitable. Yes Hunchback could be the Kinky Boots to Hamolton's Matilda. Unfortunately though, Hunchback is not a feel good musical. Hamilton seems likey to turn into a cultural zigeist, and even with all the PR power Disney has is it really worth it?
3)Aladdin/Newsies Disney will likey follow a similar bussiness strategy it used when it opened Aladdin in March, and annouced Newsies closing come April. They want to give Aladdin 2 years to esablish itself as a Broadway powerplayer. Its first year, Newsies, was riding high on buzz, but in its second year, Newsies failed to retain its sold out nature, which was only further exasburated by Aladdins opening, not being able to establish itself as a longrunner. I don't see Disney making the same mistake with Aladdin, especially when Aladdin's production costs are so much higher than Newsies. Disney wants to firmly establish Aladdin as a long runner before even thinking about Hunchback or even The Jungle Book.

Posted: 4/1/15 at 1:08pmI hadn't realized Hunchback wasn't being produced by DT in the same way as the others. It is still based on the Disney movie, isn't it? Yes, they've changed some elements, but they use the Menken/Schwartz score and everything.

Let it be known If/When Hunchback comes to Broadway it will be Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dam.
It was produced in a similar manner as Aladdin and Jungle Book, where Disney gave the rights to specific theater groups to play around with the material, remaining "hands off" so that a show isn't rushed to Broadway like Mermaid and Tarzan.

I believe that the Nederlander has been promised to AMAZING GRACE. That is what I have been told at least.

Oh!! I hope you're right Undercoveractor! I have a trip up to see everything in July. Was supposed to see Honeymoon and was looking forward to it, but would be DELIGHTED to see Amazing Grace again if that's the case. Would the next show start soon or wait until after the summer I wonder? I feel like it's a weird time for shows to open.

I believe Fiddler will go into a larger Nederlander house and the only one avail will be the Simon this fall unless the huge Palace?
I higly doubt both Gigi & AAIP will last into the fall.

Amazing Grace??? The far superior historical musical that being Hamilton is enough for one season. Per industry friends, Amazing Grace is utterly without emotion, a tedious bore with not enough uplifting moments other than the finale...title of show with the score being its weakest link!

ROBBIE.. I SAW Amazing Grace. It is absurd for you to say such negatvie things without doing the same. It may not be Hamilton but it certainly is worthy. It's a wonderful production

I highly doubt that Fiddler will take the Rodgers. Hamilton has already booked it, and given their rave reviews/word of mouth and huge advance, they may be around for a while.
