That’s not Jamie Lloyd’s production, that’s the character, and that’s the musical.  Nicole was small and dare I say boring.  Glenn was everything, over the top, hammy, crazy, camp.  Nicole was too much and not enough

a point I made a couple years ago that you stole from me.  Complaining about how The Outsiders won a plurality and the ace Suffs and Hell’s Kitchen split the vote. In a two way race, Suffs would have definitely won and the Tonys need to move to a rank choice voting system.

I can take or leave Jack Wolfe but they're missing out if they don't bring Eleanor Worthington Cox over, I thought she was the real star of the show.

Since you’ve only been posting since December under this name, which screen name are you referring to Philly pinto?

you just exposed yourself as a fraud. You've been Merkin since December. Just admit you have an issue and go away.

McDonald deserved a better production and director, especially for Act II. Nicole’s work was stunning, and earned her bobble in a production that was the toast of the season.

Paddington isn’t transferring. It’s way too risky as it’s not a huge title in America
"

To my understanding from someone affiliated with one of the producers, the current timeline will be to expect a transfer announcement after the Oliviers (where it’s a candidate to win quite a few), but timing will be gauged based on success/possible extension of TITANIQUE. Their current goal is October previews/November opening at the St. James.

As for the nomination-likely roles, I think because it’s a team of 2-3 people to make Paddington work, I would see them getting a Special Tony Award. The other roles that are awards bait are Millicent Clyde (Victoria Hamilton Barritt is DELICIOUS in that role), Mrs. Bird (Bonnie Langford is a hoot), and Mr. Curry (Tom Edden is a master of slapstick).

Now - back to the topic. Levy, Wolfe, and Cox all are hopefully coming out. I agree that Cox’s Natalie (especially during her crashout) actually gave one of the stronger and accurate performances in a show full of them. (In my job, I encounter many crashed out teens unfortunately).

I would really want Jaime Parker to come over with the rest of them because I worry that I’ll see it again and it will feel incomplete without him, especially his heartbreaking final scene with Jack. People are already pushing for Aaron Tveit to play Dan and, although he is the right age (slightly older than J. Robert Spencer in the OBC), he is not “dad” material. There are so many others that can be considered - Sebastian Arcelus, Claybourne Elder, John Gallagher, Jr. to name a few

Jamie Parker has almost everything you can want in a Dan if it weren’t for that terrible accent. I just really don’t think that would fly for American audiences. Aaron doesn’t feel right for the role either, but I’d sooner take him if those are the two options… or just cast BDJ again and we can all agree to delusionally pretend he’s in his 40s.

I'll just keep assuming the entire West End cast is transferring until the revival becomes official and the company is announced.

Is there any truth to an actual Aaron Tveit rumour or is this wishful thinking? TBH if they managed to get Aaron, Jack seems to be getting a following of younger fans from Hadestown (more than I would expect from a typical replacement there seems to be a bit of genuine buzz), C Levy while maybe not a 'name' continues to raise her profile year after year....this revival could be a smash hit!

It would certainly be a good role for an A list actress who can sing - Kate Hudson? Anne Hathaway? Amanda Seyfried? Cynthia?

The only person on this list who could sing this score once all the way through is Cynthia. Never mind eight shows a week.

...in a parallel universe, where she could not only sing the score, but sing the score 8 times a week... we're still talking about "Next To Normal", right?

Having Aaron play Dan would generate a lot of buzz for this revival. He and Cassie sang N2N at a Tom Kitt event at Studio 54 last year and to add to the rumor mill, there are recent pictures of him and Jack meeting. All complete speculation (or wishful thinking), but this is entirely plausible.
