Mel Brooks should just take Miss Thing to the Sizzler.

Surely this should be a wake up call for her to the fact that she has gone from looking gorgeous and thin to 3 calories away from death? No?

Please. This is Hollywood. She's probably being told she needs to lose another ten pounds, poor woman.
Did anyone see her on Letterman last night? She looks anorexic. It's disgusting. She has no figure, why is that attractive?
And how do they plan on padding her for the "Springtime for Hitler" number when Ulla wears practically nothing...? The part should have gone to Matthew's wife Sarah Jessica Parker. Woulda' been cute to see them on screen together....

Can't we be creative and go for, oh, say...Reese Witherspoon or Renee Zellwiger or something? ANYTHING but Nicole and if we MUST get a box office biggie, then let's go for someone who can at least sing, dance and do comedy...and please let's not go into an exhaustive expose on how well she did in Moulin Rouge etc...we've talked that one to death and there is a lot of disagreement. I do not happen to consider her a triple threat...and hope they don't expand the role for her.

Well I love Nicole, but even I dont think this role is right for her
She needs to have a slice of pizza
I wish they'd stuck with Cady. There was no need to look further.

She seems like an odd choice for Ulla, but I'll give her a chance. Who knows, maybe the padding will work.
Oh, and IMHO Ewan McGregor far outshone Kidman, singing-wise, in Moulin Rouge. But I'm even doubtful of his voice because all of the movie was so heavily edited. Who knows how much pitch correction they used? I guess they'll use editing in this movie, too, but I'd hesitate to give stars who sound okay in movies the true "triple-threat" designation.
And if the producers of The Producers were really creative, they'd cast someone new and unknown. You know, take a chance or two in casting with strong material. But I guess that's too much to ask for. It's kind of sad when comic book movies take more casting chances than movie musicals. I guess they think teenage boys are more likely to accept new actors than theater lovers.

Much as I hate to admit it, the proper "stunt casting" for the role is...
Jessica Simpson.
She's blonde, she has the boobs, and she can belt.
Ms.Simpson also has the proper English skills to pull Ulla off too.
I have the same boob problem as Nicole :P Sorry, No matter how much you eat it doesnt make your boobs get any bigger!! I mean common I tried that a long time ago :)
did it ever occur to you guys that it's hard to gain weight when you're freakishly tall? in addition to being a parent and doing 100 jobs? i mean, it takes a lot out of someone. i think you guys are being incredibly cruel here! throw her a bone! i don't think she's intentionaly a waif, i really don't. and that's not naivete, it's exaiming her character. she's not your average hollywood self consumed jerk, mmk? i genuinely think she's a good person and not so image obsessed that she'd go to the extremes of an eating disorder to appease the media's idea of the perfect image. it's time to stop bashing people for the apearence and concentrait instead on their talents (or lack there of, whatever your opinion might be) and what they have to offer.
Huh... I hate to say it, but Jessica Simpson would be (if nothing else, physically) perfect for this role!
And yes, Ewan was fabulous in Moulin Rouge. His "Your Song" makes me just plain giddy!

I'm not bashing her, I feel bad for her. In the circles she travels in, she's probably about average weight. But she doesn't look healthy. I don't even think she has an eating disorder, but even if she does, people don't get eating disorders because they're self-centered or evil. No one said that. So calm down, feinstein.
And I have an irrational hatred of "mmk" because that's what my sister says when she's being a brat. So I'll stop writing now.
haha sorry plum. i guess i wasn't talking to you personally, just seems like some people like to get on the hate wagon for the fun of it, at the expense of degrading someone who maybe didn't deserve it. but yeah, sorry if i came across to strong, and also sorry for the mmmk because i know perfectly well how bratty we little sisters can be
keep it reel plummy!
I think only overweight people bash on people for bieng to skinny. I think Nicole looks gorgeous and she is the weight that is standard in the industry.
