No rapping Rum Tum Tugger in CATS revival?

According to swing Callan Bergmann, he said that there would be "no rapping cat" in this revival. If you are familiar with CATS then you know you for the 2014 London revival, the Rum Tum Tugger was created into this rapping cat. This seems like he is referring to the Rum Tum Tugger. As awful as that costume is I listened to the "Rum Tug Tugger" number recently and didn't think a rap would be that far off from how it was originally done...

They had rapping Rum Tum Tugger in Australia (that's actually Daniel Assetta from the Aussie production in that picture) and I actually really liked it. I certainly wasn't a fan of Cats going in (my sister tormented me so often with that VHS when we were kids!) but I ended up loving it and felt the changes made for a much better, more cohesive show.

can anyone confirm Growltiger will be part of the revival?.. based on the casting call the role was for Gus and Bustopher Jones.. but did not mention Growltiger. Nor do I see any mention of Growltiger in any of the cast lists.

I hope not. I always thought Growltiger was one of the weaker parts of the show. Like I get the whole fake operetta thing but you can do that in less than 10 minutes.
