Do you have anything to actually contribute to this thread?

No way this thread hit 11 pages without a lot of dead horses.

Sure, I posted the letter the show sent out to its fan club this afternoon earlier.
90k, 9 days to go? Not looking great. I wonder if the 'donation' is going to come in all at once or if we're going to see a few 10 and 5k orders pop in on the last few days/hours
My assumption is that the current total has already been juiced with "donations" all along the way. This feeds the narrative and also (as anyone, but especially see PBS, knows) encourages joining in through validation and goal enthusiasm.
I have no doubt this will be miraculously fully funded in the 11th hour, before their campaign ends (...mere hours before the Tonys dress rehearsal on the morning of 6/12).
I'm glad donations have slowed and more and more people are questioning this campaign. It is disingenuous at best and sets a bad precedent for closed shows attempting Tony performances in the future, and a bad precedent for producers in general.
Ha, I saw Michael Arden on the street yesterday and considered asking him what he thought of this whole mess, but I think that would have been inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

Marlee Matlin has been promoting the Kickstarter campaign on Twitter also. I understand her motivation to want an opportunity to showcase diverse casting. The actors may just be choosing to ignore the more unseemly aspects of the campaign.
Agreed. I can totally understand why an actor wouldn't want to say anything against the idea of another actor (or themselves) performing on the Tonys.
Also, this was a fun takedown:

Actors probably wouldn't want to bite a hand that could feed them, either.

In their private lives, many actors are questioning this practice (I say that because I know some), and yeah, they don't want to say anything on Twitter because they don't want to make anyone who could hire them mad.

The idea of anyone who is receiving a paycheck from Mr. Davenport would speak up is ludicrous. The onus shouldn't be on them anyway. It should be squarely placed on Mr. Davenport's shoulders, along with the Board of Directors at Deaf West. As someone who has served on multiple governing boards for non-profit entities, I'm still somewhat shocked they allowed this. If they had done any due diligence, they would have foreseen the negative optics and questionable practices.
I'm looking forward to the response when the Tony performance lineup is announced.
Oh, the blizzard of subtweets will be delicious. I'm ready to screencap!
Also, I'm starting to doubt Deaf West has a board at all.

Lizzie, I was thinking the same thing. It doesn't seem like they have a board or anyone who actually works there?
Hmmm...

Wow, I've never seen such a vague homepage for such a prominent theatre company. No staff page? No mission statement or about the company page? No company history? No past productions? They don't even list an artistic or executive director!

My point precisely.
Their 990 lists no employees.

I'm 35 minutes into this episode right now and it's delicious.

The only name I'm finding on that Guidestar page is David Kurs. I wonder if he is still the artistic director?
When is the Tony performance lineup generally announced? What what I'm seeing, the Tonys announced performances last year on June 3, 2015. Should we expect the lineup to be revealed potentially today? Tomorrow?

The Tony's were on June 7th last year. This year, they're a week later on the 12th. So, probably around June 8th.
Ooh, that makes sense, Hairspray! Forgot about the calendar change. Thank you!
I'm sure we'll see a headline saying: 2016 TONY PERFORMANCES INCLUDE CASTS OF HAMILTON, WAITRESS, AND- PROVIDED THEY'RE FUNDED BY 11:59 ON 6/11- SPRING AWAKENING.
Hmmmm....look what I just found:
