They usually do. He was also on the Ripa and Seacrest show yesterday morning; I don't know if that was taped in advance.

I assume he will be out for at least a week. Right?

Looks like it. When you click on any ticket date through April 15 on their website, this message comes up:
At this performance of Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite, the role usually performed by Matthew Broderick will be played by Tony Award winner Michael McGrath, alongside Sarah Jessica Parker.
It's not on the 16th, so that must be his return date.

LIVE WITH KELLY & RYAN and most talk shows now tape in advance, including WATCH WHAT HAPPENS LIVE. GMA, THE TODAY SHOW, and THE VIEW are still live.

Saw this one last night. I thought the show itself was solidly "meh" but thankfully both leads were up to the task to land the jokes and keep the energy high throughout the performance.
McGrath did a fantastic job - at intermission, the folks around me were mentioning that they didn't miss Broderick at all and I wholeheartedly agreed. He stepped into his role seamlessly and his chemistry with SJP was great.
SJP is having a really fun time on that stage and I'm glad I got to see her. Her voice sounded like it was fading and she coughed a few times toward the end of the show, so hopefully she's getting good rest between shows and is able to stay healthy!

Incorrect. Colbert, Fallon, Kimmel, Seth Meyers, Kelly and Ryan, etc are all taped for same day airing (except for Fridays, which are taped Weds or Thurs).

I hope Erin and Michael get to go on. That's been my main hope and reason for waiting to potentially see it!

I think Erin OR Michael will get to go on. But Erin AND Michael, probably not. My belief is that the show will likely be dark until Broderick is back, and then will go on with Dilly until Parker is back.
Now this could of course change if a larger outbreak erupts amongst the cast (which is NOT a given, so don't say it is). But right now, this is where the needle is likely pointing.

Someone said she was coughing on stage last night so good luck to McGrath and the 1% in the first few rows.

Does Matthew Broderick have a tentative return date as of now?

No, the production has been extended, but performances are also cancelled until April 10th.

Looks like they're planning to return on April 12 with both standbys going on until April 16 when Broderick would return. This is under the assumption that McGrath doesn't test positive by April 12.

If the play goes on without one of the 2 stars, is that eligible for an exchange or refund?

Does anyone think there will be some discounted tickets if it's indeed true that both standbys will be on for a few performances?

I assume so.

This show uses dynamic pricing. On shows where Broderick/SJP are scheduled to appear, center orch seats are $599/$699 premium. From April 12-16, those same seats are being sold for $279. It's discounted but not TDF level discounted. Who knows though.... the price may get lowered more the closer we get to the performance.

It was a joke. She was coughing during her final show before she tested positive. The latest variant (post Omicron) is more easily transmissible so her costars and the folks with the bread to buy the front row are susceptible. That’s all I was joshing about.

So if, as listed above, SJP was coughing prior to testing positive, shouldn’t that mean she would have to sit out 10 days from the onset of symptoms, not 10 days from testing positive? Of course, assuming that she was not still experiencing symptoms at that point. I hope no one from any production has been seriously ill and, because they have been vaccinated, that hopefully is the case.
After 1.5 hours on hold with the Hudson, I was told nothing has been decided as of today and since Matthew was due to come back on the 16th, it is possible that SJP would be back the same night. That is what prompted my previous comment regarding the ambiguity of the Equity Covid policy. It’s frustrating for those of us with tickets for this week not to get any information since many may have to change travel plans. It’s such a mess and in a small production with 2 top stars, it’s just compounded. I’m sure they are doing everything they can at this point and kudos to the hard working box office personnel. Even though I didn’t get any new information, I do appreciate the kind demeanor of the person I spoke to.
