Has anyone ever sat in the partial view orchestra seats for Moulin Rouge? How are they? Did you miss anything from your perspective?

I had a lottery seat, wayyyy house right, and pretty close to the stage. You miss about 1/3 of the action -- anything that happens in the "box" you're sitting below, anything way stage left, and anything far upstage. You do get most of the show, as most of it happens center/downstage. For $30 to a notoriously expensive show... I think it was well worth it.

some of them are pretty awful, if you are at the end you miss 1/3 of the show.
At lottery prices, the seats are fair. Paying much more than that and I'd rather pay more for a full view seat.

I did it for $63 and feel I got most of the show. I was way house left, in like G or something, but you miss anything in the box on that side or when they go upstage into that corner. But it was fine for the price. That said, I didn't leave as a huge fan of the show, so was glad I didn't pay more

I have an eye on Row K, Seat 22 for $99 (far house right).
Or Row J, Seat 19 for $99 (far house left).
Any thoughts?

If I recall properly, I'd do J19 between those two, since the Box Tveit sits in is house right, so if you're going to miss one of the boxes, see the one with the eye candy in it...

If you can watch the show today at 2pm, I see side orch M3, M5, etc. priced at $99. Center orch row F102 F103 priced at $129. Great prices for these seats!
My friend sat in partial view side orch K22 a few weeks ago and he didn't think it was that partial. After all, the seat next to his was considered full-view. He bought it last minute stubhub for $60.

I sat J21 for $99 and was 3 seats in from the edge. I definitely feel like I missed a decent portion of the show for that price, and I'm sure 19 is even worse. I still enjoyed the show and didn't feel like I missed anything major, but you can't see the staircase or the windmill (not sure if anything happens at the windmill, but I know stuff did on the staircase). If it's your only option and you really want to see the show, it's probably worth it, but you will certainly miss some parts.

I won a partial view ticket through the lottery. I didn’t care for the show, so I don’t think I’ll return. Based on my one experience though, stay away from that elephant.

Oh, yeah, I guess it would be. I also sat in the seat next to me (I assume 19) for awhile during act 2 because our neighbor didn't come back from intermission, so the rest of us moved down. The view was not much different.

DON'T DO IT!!! I can't emphasize this enough. Unless you pay the lottery price, it just isn't worth it. I bought a partial view orchestra seat when the show first opened in the summer for $142 after fees (due to limited availability and very high prices) and left the theater extremely disappointed. Luckily was able to see it again from the mezzanine -- much better and actually enjoyed the show more. Save your money for a full view seat. I promise you 100% it is worth it.

The show is so great that I really think it is worth your time to save up and see it from an unobstructed seat- ithere is a lot of great dancing - and the staging is really excellent- it is my favorite musical this season. Saw Moulin one night- and Hadestown the next- and though I did enjoy he artiness or H- Moulin Rouge was hands down one of the most entertaining evenings at a theater in a very long time. I love drama most of all- but MR was really a great show.

Haven't done partial view for this show, but I ended up getting a last minute ticket on Stubhub a few weeks ago (T5) that ended up being around $77 or so (definitely less than $80)? It was the last row in the mezzanine, house left, so I was worried I would miss things that happen downstage on the runway in the orchestra, but I felt like I had a full view of everything. Honestly, I'm a bit of a snob about being close to the actors, I often feel if I can't see their faces clearly then I don't enjoy the show as much. But I will say that I thought it was a good view, especially for being in the last row, I didn't feel too, too far away. It's a good, full-picture view. Although I might've liked the show better had I been able to see their faces, I still think I got the full experience.
Tl;dr I liked it, but didn't love it. The show is so visual that if you really, really want to see it, I'd save for a full-view seat, I don't think it's worth it to end up being blocked by an elephant or something else silly that makes you miss things. I loved being able to see the full cast/ensemble, especially in the Act II opener and the encore.

^ I also saw the show via StubHub in the last row of the mezz, house left, for around $75 after fees. Awesome seat; I didn't care for the show, but if you're gonna insist on going, I'd at least opt for this option instead of partial view.
