Wow Patti totally called me out! Obviously when I said that it was a mess, I was talking about how delayed these decisions were regarding casting and rehearsals (since previews were to begin on March 31st but rehearsals hadn't begun for ten more days, which left then 5 weeks til people were coming to see the show). I didn't see the show EVER, I was judging purely based on how poorly this show was being produced, not on any of the material in the show. Very sad that she posted that blog.

Then we can leave all this negativity behind and be positive and worry about shows closing because of all the people out of work."
Lookout, world. I think we just found the very first BroadwayWorld power couple in history. "Finding Golightly", coming to the Longacre this season! Previews being April 1st!
They/them.

I feel very bad for the cast and crew of this though. What a disappointment it must be for them to not be able to continue with a new Broadway show. Best of luck to them. bfreak
No surprise, but it really is terrible for the cast & crew. neonlightsxo
Too bad for the extremely late-hired cast, especially since those names finally piqued interest. Pootie2
I do feel bad for the cast. IdinaBellFoster
HOW AWFUL. I feel so bad for the cast and crew. I can't even imagine what that feels like. broadwayboy223
What an awkward time to cancel the time during a rehearsal! So glad to see the cast's closeness in that picture disneybroadwayfan22
I wish everyone involved good speed. QueenAlice
Too bad one of the Hamilton producers can't throw them a couple million to get the show to opening.
That's awful. RippedMan
I am extremely sympathetic to the cast and creative team. Kad
It truly does suck for the cast and creatives and there will be no schadenfreude from me, even if I questioned the Broadway prospects of this one from the first mention. temms
it still does really suck for the cast and creative team. Here's hoping they all move on to another project soon. wonderfulwizard11
I feel for the cast and crew and wish them well. Sounds like they found out basically the same time we did. They deserve better and will hopefully find it. WhizzerMarvin
I feel horrible for the cast and crew. I knew the director when we were both younger and she was a great girl. 10086sunset
desperately sad for the company. Just when you think you can exhale and not worry about paying the bills for a minute... elphaba.scares.me
Was excited to see that it was coming to Broadway but sad to see that this is the case. Islander_fan

It does seem that Murin can't tell the difference between criticism of the business (the producers, investors, etc.) versus the show and/or cast. Now, I realize from her emotional point of view, everyone might be just one big ol' family with no distinction, but that's certainly not how the business works either.
If someone is so poor at interpreting that type of criticism within context, they really have no business being anywhere near the internet, especially on social media where they spread lies more easily. I was very sympathetic to the Nerds cast, but what Patti Murin has pulled with the cherry-picking and misinterpretation and outright hypocrisy has me crossing her name off that list. And I wasn't even familiar with the cast names.
I agree, this is getting quite sad now. It's actually making me lose some respect for her.

the thing I find slightly ironic about her quoting me twice is that neither time was I being particularly rude or anything (despite stating the obvious, that the show was a mess) plus: I literally don't even know any of her work. What has Patti Murin ever been in or done that she feels some kind of sense of superiority over us random anonymous people on an internet board? Her bitchiness towards me in particular is egregious.
Patti, I welcome you to PM me regarding your issues with me since I know you're reading all this BS anyway.

Yes, that was the feeling I got from all of this too. Patti Murin is acting like a Trump supporter. It's too bad she can never deign to actually respond to this thread, but instead posted something off-board so her readers are conveniently shepherded away from the full context of everything.

But I still don't see anything that says "Report abuse" on it, like BWW claims."

Exactly. Legitimate celebrities deal with much more scrutiny on a daily basis. Patti trying to take down a fairly small but passionate community of theater fans is pathetic.
I don't know how those blog things work, but does she have to approve all of the comments that appear under her article? Maybe that accounts for how they all blindly support her.

I figured that was it, but the Moderator post said it was "Report abuse," so I was confused if that was supposed to be a new one and Report message was there all along... since I never really thought to report anyone on here, well, OK, there was one time...

That is a typical setting for blogs, yes. Very Trump-like.
