As BWW are tinkering around with their system, maybe they could finally sort out the spacing thing too? Is it a Google Chrome thing or what? I have to leave two spaces between paragraphs for it to look normal.

This happens to me on Firefox too. And I think on my phone (Firefox, Android).
I'm sorry Ellis can't differentiate between critcism of himself and criticism of his character, but I would still do both of them. Unless I die in a fire.
I wanted to tell Patti before that I deleted her from my favorite list on BWW. She (and her puppy) would want it that way. Hopefully my post doesn't get deleted this time.

I kind of feel badly for her. She obviously cared very much about the show and the way this apparently went down was not easy.
But Patti needs to understand that the whole world does not have to share in her suffering.
She took the time to write that whole blog and has cultivated it into a moderated twitter page.
Does she really care that much about a tiny group of fans chatting on a message board?
I wonder what this really about."
She doesn't know who to blame for this sad state of affairs surrounding Nerds and is thus scapegoating the most convenient target, the ONLY place on the internet that actually had any sort of buzz about the show (I checked all their social media), in a desperate attempt to seek catharsis for her directionless rage. #psychology

Totally agree that how this all went down with the show is worth being upset about. And at least in my opinion this is what it seems to be about. I know it has happened to me over lesser things that are easier to get over in my own job. But, I see a lot of what she has blogged about to be in defense over the show that some people aren't talking very nicely about. I get wanting to read nice stuff, but not everything can be that. And again, I don't seem to recall any horribly nasty messages about the cast.

Wow, I think it is downright RUDE of whoever this person is to ask the chat boards to be shut down. And I'm a positive person -- none of my posts have ever been negative. I've gleaned so much valuable information from these boards that have enhanced my own theater-going experience, and I am grateful that such a community exists. I look at the BWW news and then look at the BWW community reaction to the news, so being on the same site IS the right way to do it.
What angers me is that Patti went SEARCHING for negativity. Just because she doesn't like people saying negative things doesn't mean people aren't allowed to be critical. Not everyone is going to like you or what you do or how you do it (universal "you" here). A more appropriate response might have been to ask for better, clearer, blatant guidelines and better moderation. So now I'm getting riled up, but I'll do a la Book of Mormon and just "turn it off"! :)
Maybe if you're feeling super sensitive about something that happened to you in your life, maybe don't go look at the Internet, especially don't go specifically seeking out bad things on the Internet about the particular event that happened to you...
I mean there are some nasty, nasty, disgusting, abhorrent Internet boards out there with horrible people. This is NOT one of them.
If we only have love Then tomorrow will dawn And the days of our years Will rise on that morn If we only have love To embrace without fears We will kiss with our eyes We will sleep without tears If we only have love With our arms open wide Then the young and the old Will stand at our side If we only have love Love that's falling like rain Then the parched desert earth Will grow green again If we only have love For the hymn that we shout For the song that we sing Then we'll have a way out If we only have love We can reach those in pain We can heal all our wounds We can use our own names If we only have love We can melt all the guns And then give the new world To our daughters and sons If we only have love Then Jerusalem stands And then death has no shadow There are no foreign lands If we only have love We will never bow down We'll be tall as the pines Neither heroes nor clowns If we only have love Then we'll only be men And we'll drink from the Grail To be born once again Then with nothing at all But the little we are We'll have conquered all time All space, the sun, and the stars.
This is a legitimate question for Rob or any other moderator: what is going to constitute "abuse" when it comes to our criticisms of a show? Are we allowed to say a play was poorly written; a director was uninspired; an actor gave a bland, or even awful, performance? It seems to me that Patti would consider these things "abuse," at least in connection to BWW, so where do you guys stand?
Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco.
Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!
I'm baffled that Smaxie was even quoted in her post- for merely providing factual information. Smaxie is one of the nicest, most knowledgeable posters here. I've never seen him post an unkind word, but his posts are always informative and well-reasoned.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
While my ignore list is full of trolls I've blocked on this forum, the worst thing that can happen to a community board is the chilling effect. Keep that in mind, Rob/mod.
