July Andrews? ...like Julie Andrews? Assuming that's who you're talking about, I don't think people will cast Julie Andrews in evil roles... And can she sing it? I thought she only had like a four note range now. Not that the part has a huge range.
Samantha Barks could 100% play Elphie and might be considered big enough, just coming out of Les Mis. She has a good American accent, too, and used to play an American on some weird Disney Channel show.
As much as I love Kristin (as Glinda, I mean), I don't foresee anyone thinking she looks young enough. Megan Hilty does though, and has the power because she's on Smash. I hope they at least consider her.
Robin Williams or Steve Martin would be perfect as the Wizard. CZJ with some age makeup could be good as Morrible, I think, or if they want to go down that road they could put Patti or Bernadette in it.
Darren Criss would actually be quite the Fiyero, even though I'm not a big fan.
Patti or Bennadette would be amazing!! Specially Patti. But if they were to cast a Broadway star as Morrible, then they would definitely get some mega stars for the leads.
Julie Andrews said she's not going to do anymore singing. Sounds like she's going to be writing. So don't look forward to her doing anything in WICKED.

I don't care about Wicked enough to get too worked up about the casting (not the way I'm freaking out about ITW casting, at least) and it's weird because I used to be so utterly obsessed with Wicked. It was the first Broadway show I ever saw, at the age of 12, on my first trip to NY, and when I got the tickets I cried of pure joy. But I hope they put Broadway stars in it. I know they won't... but a girl can dream, right?
Guys why even argue about Elphaba: Samantha Barks has an absolutely amazing voice and is a fantastic actress. She was incredibly well recieved in Les Miz. She'd be perfect. For Morrible...I would love to see Julie Andrews. I know she "doesnt sing" anymore but I think she could do it well.
I am still wishing beyond hope that they do a2-D hand drawn animated film of this property. There was thak stunning pencil test done of defying Gravity by that young animator a couple years ago that was truly amazing. I think Universal issued a cease a desist and had it removed from the internet.
Those Blocked: SueStorm. N2N Nate. Good riddence to stupid! Rad-Z, shill begone!
Shoshana Bean as Elphaba for me. Her acting is stunning, and her voice is just flawless. She's still young enough to play the role, and it could help her music career. Am I the only one who would like Amy Adams to play Nessarose?
My Dream Cast! Elphaba: Jennifer Lawrence Glinda:Megan Hilty Fiyero: Darren Criss Madame Morrible: Bette Midler The Wizard: Will Ferrell or Robin Williams Nessarose: Ariana Grande Boq: Daniel Radcliffe Doctor Dillamond: Morgan Freeman
Maybe because I haven't seen the show since the original cast was still in it, but both Robin Williams and Will Ferrell seem like such over-sized personalities for the Wizard. It's hard to imagine either one of them leaving their standard shtick behind.
How old they want to go for the Wizard will depend on their treatment of the timeline.
Our flashback to Elphaba's conception shows him as a slick and (assumably) sexy traveling salesman who has no trouble seducing a stranger into bed. Jump to the present, and Elphaba is entering the university, at presumably age seventeen through twenty. She meets the Wizard, a man old enough to be her father, yet young enough to REASONABLY be her father, shortly after.
When we next see the Wizard again, the amount of time that has passed is ambiguous. Is Elphaba's ascent to terrorist icon immediate, or has she been on the radar for years? How old are the main witches in context of the events of Act 2? The Wizard will have aged accordingly.
Stage convention has been to cast an old man, usually a theatrical legend of two generations or more ago, as the Wizard. On film, where the amount of time passing will probably be more pronounced, odds are we will see a man of middle age, who ages up.
Kevin Spacey would be an interesting choice- consider his work on House Of Cards as an example of his ability to switch from aw-shucks playfulness to American political hucksterism to cold sociopathic calculation at the drop of a hat.
