Just the other day, I undertook my exercise regimen and the OBC of Two Gentlemen of Verona managed to play from start to finish during my entire workout. That album in particular is a nice mix of "up" and "down" tracks.
My routine is a 35 minute jog around the reservoir here in the Silverlake area of LA-- I do it every day I'm out of work (which can be a LOT). I know my tastes are severely atypical, but some of my favorite scores to run to on heavy repeat are BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, and TITANIC. I also second the votes for BILLY ELLIOTT and HAMILTON. Hearing something that'll make me cry is the kind of score that gives me LIFE!

I do with Miss Saigon OLC, Hamilton, and some songs from Dear Evan Hansen. It's amazing to work out with Miss Saigon because you can actually to some degree feel the pain of Kim as you burn out, and the tension in several confrontations helps a lot as well.
Really, though... you should just make a playlist of your favorite uptempo numbers from various shows. I have several different ones ready (of wildly varying genres) so I'm set no matter what mood I'm in.
I haven't seen School of Rock mentioned, yet! I have been listening to it non-stop at the gym since I saw the show last week. There's some REALLY great uptempo numbers that keep me going on the elliptical! I also like Legally Blonde, Sister Act, Lysistrata Jones and In the Heights as well, and I've seen all of those mentioned on here. Those four are my usual fare, but School of Rock has made its way into the rotation. I'm at the gym 3-5x per week, so I listen to a LOT of music, lots of musicals and don't usually talk to anyone while I work out, so my music keeps me going!

Not obscure whatsoever, but "Mein Herr" from Cabaret is one of my favorites during cardio because of its constantly increasing and decreasing and finally sharply increasing tempo that I keep up with so it's kind of like a 3.5-minute increasing sprint.
If you want something obscure I would go with Burnt Part Boys, it's got good up beat songs mixed with ballads. I would also checkout Dogfight, See What I Wanna See, Giant, Bernada Alba, Boy From Oz, Calvin Berger, Carrie, Children of Eden, Closer than Ever (partial to the revival with Jen Colella), Tick tick Boom, Wild Party (Lippa).
