"You wanna prowl? Be my night owl, well take my hand were gonna howlll...OUT TONIGHT!"-Daphne Rubin Vega the BEST Mimi ever!
So that's what the beginning of the line looked like...
I was either the second to last, or dead last group to get in. As I was waiting on line downstairs, I watched Tracie, Rosario, and Taye all leave. Idina was already long gone. Only Adam, Anthony and Wilson were still there. Poor Anthony looked so tired. He was still very nice, and thanked me for waiting for so long. He also told me he hoped I liked the movie (when it came out). I, naturally, remained my pathetic shy self, and didn't say much. Adam was quite cheerful, and an absolute sweetheart. I felt slightly more at ease with him, simply because he shot me a big grin while I was waiting on line. Still was afraid to say anything. He seemed to get my problem, and just said "Thank you, sweetie," and I was off. Wilson and I didn't talk. Then I left.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

"Oh, good. After all, I can rub my stomach and pat my head at the same time, and I can do it with my eyes closed while whistling 'The Entertainer.' That's rhythm for you."

I was downstairs within the first few groups, so we were all waiting before the cast came out. When they finally did and posed in front of the Rent signs, there were tons of press people and lots of flashes. It was very exciting. And loud.
Wait - in the first person that posted pictures, there's a picture of someone holding what looks like the CD booklet. Is it a silver/metallic color, or does it just look that way in the picture?
I love how Idina has no clothes. Outfit repeater. Haha.
That's the CD insert for the higlights CD, to be released tomorrow. To get into the signing, you got a gift card for the price of the CD, along with the insert.
Em, gee, would you happen to have had any experiences where you met Adam and didn't say anything?
That's really wonderful of the 3 of them to stay that late. And yes, poor Anthony always looks tired, but twice I have made that observation and he insists he wasn't, just very...passionate and into what he's doing. So hopefully he's not as tired as we all think.
And I love all the pictures, particularly the group shots. How would you guys say that the crowd was as a whole-lots more of the slightly more calm Rent fans or slightly more crazier, screamish Rent fans or right down the middle? And how did the cast react to more of the crazier Rentheads?
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
Five years of silence, shut up! But what has come of the silence has meant a lot to me. Everyone knows that. I went tonight because more than getting things signed, I wanted to be able to tell him how impressed I was with him. And while the exact words didn't precisely come out, I'll have another chance to do better, and the basic point got made. He deserved to know.
I was in the first batch of people so I was there when the cast first came out. When they came out, there was screaming and a bit of squealing, but perfectly normal and not obnoxious. There didn't seem to be any OMG IDINA!'s in the first batch. Although I did catch a group of girls next to me in line saying eye-dina, which really irks me. It was quick moving but if you wanted to say something to the cast, you could get it in there. I found that in most cases, it wasn't the fans who were holding up the line, but it was the cast. They tended to have little conversations amongst themselves. Rosario at one point took the Rent bible that Adam was signing and flipped to a picture of Daphne and started going into this whole explanation to Adam about how Daphne's costume in that particular picture influenced her to do something or other. And of course, Taye and Idina were kinda talking amongst themselves the whole time.
I was there. it was loads of fun. I got my Rent bible and the poster signed. And Adam signed the booklet for Civilian. he was so cute when I asked him to sign it. seemed so excited that someone had his album. hahaha
oh and I got the best pictures of Idina and Adam hehehe (as shown above)
