I really like this cast so far! I'd be happy if I were allowed to go.

Karmine!...I know shes older...but she ROCKS as Mimi...Since I'm not that excited to see Lexi whatever her name is...Karmine! Mimi! would be amazingggg...or Caryn! Mimi!...I never got the chance to see her as Mimi!..and this cast seems to be very well rounded...I've seen a lot of this cast (on bway)....I really hope Merle Dandridge is Joanne...not Hannefah Wood...
That would be awesome. I remember seeing RENT on Broadway this summer and Justin was on as Angel. Telly had done the three shows prior to that and I was so bummed that I missed him. I hear he's terrific in that role.
If the ensemble cast is correct, would Telly be Steve or Andy?
I'm just kinda surprised that since they made such a big deal about this tour being Alumni that they chose someone new for such a major role.
When did they make a big deal about it being alumni? Other than Adam and Anthony, it was always hyped as an "All-Star" cast, not alumni. And other than Adam and Anthony, there are no stars.

from what i've heard Telly is Steve and Andy is Paul.

If that's true, it's unfortunate. Andy's Will I solo is one of the all-time best, whereas I always thought that to be one of Telly's weak points. I'd prefer the roles reversed. Telly would make a better Diva Boy.

Seems like it will be a good show, the age issue is a bit weird, but it will be nice for people who didn't get to see them reprise the roles. And it will sell seats, which is what it's all about. Total sidenote: I am possibly too excited about seeing Michael McElroy. He is such a sweetheart!
I want Merle Danderage as Joanne. I do not think the age is that bad if they are good in the roles then they are good in the roles. Any one have a link to the Facebook page with the casting
"I don't think Caren is a Mimi u/s, with Trisha on the tour. Unless there is 3."
even on Broadway, Caren often went on for Mimi before Trisha did. so i would make the assumption that would be the case on tour.

Clearly alot of you are not actors in NY! Why wouldn't established actors do a national tour? I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU SAID THAT!...its better money than broadway and its work. Whether half of them are old or not its a job and like alot of my fellow actors in the city after being in shows that last for a week and close. Or a month and close its always nice to finally get a show where you can have some stability. But I guess it would be kind of hard for alot of you to understand. Personally I would love to see some new actors in the national tour but this is an all-star cast and Bernie would not cast any of these people if they were not capable of doin the role again. I have been in my show for 4 years now but after so many shows that didn't last I am not going anywhere anytime soon!
On another note I am happy to see Haneefa in the role of Joanne...that girl has some serious pipes! And Justin is a perfect example of an actor that has been doing a role for a really long time but still gives you a fresh performance...I am happy for all of them!
I just clicked on the broadway.com link....the tour is coming to Toronto July 21-26? This makes me really happy! Haven't seen Rent since 1997 when I was borderline obsessed.. I can't wait! Looks fabulous!
"You see, I told you so! There's lots of things I know. 'Ponine, she knows her way around."

The website (www.siteforrent.com) has a slightly different schedule, which I believe is correct - opposed to what the Bway.com link gives. Chicago is two weeks, as is Boston - futher down in the schedule. Atlanta and Toronto are not listed.
