What a nasty thing for him to have written. I guess birds of feather stick together.

How do we find all the other people that have privately emailed Scott Rudin with supportive messages? We're gonna need an investigation. Maybe put together a committee and invite people we suspect of secretly supporting him to testify. "Are you now or have you ever been a supporter of Scott Rudin?" That kind of thing.
"When the email was made public, Roth confirmed his words and officially stepped down from his involvement in Beauty and the Beast. "Upon consideration of recent events, it is clear that I am not in a position to lead this production at this time. I see now that the sentiments included in a private email that went public were thoughtless and insensitive, and I am profoundly sorry that my comments have caused unintended pain," he told The Stage."
This is right up there with Rudin's own non-apology... What I'm sure he WANTED to say was:
"Upon consideration of recent events, it is clear that I shouldn't have been composing this email in a public space where others could leak it and ruin my career. I see now that emails like this should be composed in the privacy of my own home and I am profoundly sorry that it has caused me to lose out on directing this project."
Looking forward to seeing this house of cards full of abusive industry titans continue to crumble around them all.
When do the text/emails from the company members of Moulin Rouge come out? That's going to be a lot of people to cancel.

Hahaha. Maybe they aren’t the people who should be cancelled if/When that happens. Interesting how few of the Moulin company have liked/openly supported Karen’s post.

Exactly. If people only knew.

Just wild that now writing something nasty about Karen Olivo in a private email is a crime. They'd have to build whole new jails.

Maybe in this new era of transparency, that she’s so vocal about, people on that show should start speaking up.

Someone's gonna need to retire from acting in order to dedicate their time to advocating how unlikeable Karen Olivo is.

Karen could offer tips on retiring from acting.
Let me get this straight: Roth was on a plane, and the passenger next to him secretly wrote down what he saw Roth writing in a private email and leaked it? Regardless of what one thinks about the Karen Olivo thing, isn't that kind of...you know...wrong?

And on the 27th Anniversary of Beauty and the Beast. How strange, I wonder if Disney HR has anything to say.

Disney is hypersensitive to even a hint of controversy. I doubt he decided to step aside. In all likelihood Disney told him to step down.

It's absolutely wrong, but in this day and age, the ends seem to justify the means. And this day an age, an opinion in a private email is a fireable offense.

You’re making it a point that copying down an email in full view is wrong wrong wrong—but being an abusive a-hole and your colleagues supporting you and making jokes about it in support is a giant shrug. Priorities.

My mother always told me two wrongs don't make a right.
There must’ve been more damning evidence that still hasn’t come out for Roth to admit to the claim he wrote this. Anyone got an inside scoop? This all seems so odd.
I do not buy that someone saw him writing the email on the plane. There is more to the story. Perhaps Rubin thought it was clever and shared it with people or a staff person saw the email.

The thing that doesn't sit right with me is that I can't imagine anyone more anonymous on an airplane than Rob Roth.
The plane thing is a risky detail to invent. There’s a lot of room for that to be discredited. In this scenario: the person who leaked it - did they know for sure that Roth was even on a plane? Or that he wasn’t sitting in the back row with no one sitting next to him?
