Well, don't they usually take tickets down far in advance? I mean Avenue Q's tickets were down about 2 months before they announced anything...

That's a shame. I really enjoyed the show. I actually made my Halloween costume to be one of the Duloc people because I loved them so much.

PGenre, isn't CMIYC aiming for the Marquis?

"CATCH ME IF YOU CAN for this soon vacant theater! PLEASE! "
I thought the same thing when I read this on Sieber's status. Now MINKSY'S can take the Marquis and CATCH ME IF YOU CAN can take the Broadway (or vice versa) and they can stop the tug of war over the Marquis. If what I've heard is true, at least.
To be honest though, I'd actually prefer to wait for CATCH ME if they're planning on making changes to the material which I've heard they really should do. I'd rather have it come next season in great shape than come, rushed, this year just because there's a theater to accommodate it and they want to open it ASAP.

I know I know, not happening.

Wow, dsh, you just named possibly the only thing that I would want MORE than CMIYC at the Broadway!
I LOVE that theatre and it's been too long since anything good was in there (and, no, I don't mean MISS SAIGON!).
I HATE the Marquis... Minsky's can have it when they (announce and then don't) come in.

Ok, FWC would be, like, totally outrageous contagious. I'd be there at the first preview!
So, FIRST WIVES CLUB or CMIYC for the Broadway.

Aw, I'm sad because I was rather fond of Shrek, but we all knew it was coming. Either way, it's always sad to have any show close.

I suspect ITH will close in Jan as well.

When does it open off-Broadway?
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I'm disappointed that "Shrek" is closing. It is a very underrated musical. It opened in a difficult financial time and it deserves more credit than it does. I'm not upset, but I'm a little sad. Even if this show didn't have a longer run than "The Little Mermaid" it's not the end of the world. There are shows that were better that didn't last longer like "Legally Blonde," "Young Frankenstein," and "9 to 5."

Can't say this is surprising considering its grosses these past few weeks... It's too bad it did not last longer though
