She quite literally is a Drama Desk Award WINNER yo. Not an unknown. An 18 year old from Bumf*ck, NJ that came out to the city just to audition for this and has only done high school theater is an unknown. Let's call this what it always was, those open auditions were a PR stunt.
"

You really need to touch grass. I mean this as someone who thinks Amalia Yoo was a highlight of JPITV: she's, still, relatively unknown, and not nearly as known as her talent warrants.

Since JPITV she did one tiny Off Broadway run, while Sadie Sink is literally in a Marvel movie, and Fina Strazza (who is also still way too unknown for her talent) has been booking TV.

Are you seriously complaining that a hugely talented young person with literally one Broadway credit and no track record of doing musicals got a supporting role in a highly anticipated musical???

You're out of your mind.
"

This is an incredibly emotionally charged comment. I hope you find some peace inwards and take theater and this board a little less seriously… just some advice! ☺️

Yeah, these are ALL obscure nobodies.

Do we know if any of them are getting their equity card and/or came out of the open call?

The artwork is also very striking.

Two performers were cast from the call, Jack Bateman as Georg and Antonio Porciello as Hanschen. Two out of 11 cast members coming from an open call that saw well over 2k auditioners is pretty darn good, imo.

Yes, two actors from the open call is an incredibly fortunate thing for those actors and justifies doing it. And I’m sure even more of them got callbacks, got appointments for other TRC projects, and will be considered for replacements when this inevitably extends.

I don’t watch his videos but that is obnoxious. Does he really need that much attention? Just let things be announced when they’re announced and we can avoid all these stupid rumors.

The fact that Sadie Sink was announced for two upcoming Marvel films should’ve killed the rumor of her involvement.

Re: SPRING AWAKENING at Studio Seaview (Off-Broadway)

12 weeks is an incredibly short run for a show with no A-list stars who need to leave for a strict shooting schedule somewhere. Given the crazy business it’s doing just in the first 48 hours of sales, barring massive box office holdbacks, I can’t imagine this not adding at least a month of performances. It all depends on what Studio Seaview has lined up after them. We won’t know anything about Broadway prospects until it opens and we see if it’s even any good, but the odds of them transferring this season seem low. A February (without extension) or March (with extension) closing off-Broadway with a mid-April opening on Broadway is a tight turnaround.
