For what it's worth, several of the cast members have told me that discussions are under way for a cast album. There have also been talks about recording it in HD for showing in cinemas.
Wow, if it comes to fruition, a cast and video recording of this production would be absolutely sublime. I'm glad they realize just how special this revival is!
I agree. I wonder if they're holding off making an announcement until more tickets are sold in April? I'd imagine if people know it'll go on BroadwayHD then some folks may choose not to see the show? Just a thought.
I remember reading in his Facebook that Andrew Kober has gone on during th fourth performance (or near therthe anyway) but I'm not sure what role he was playing.
Earlier on their twitter account they said they don't have current plans for a cast recording. I saw the show tonight and I think it'd be an utter shame not to record it. Annaleigh brought a breath of fresh air and Jake was incredibly powerful. I seriously need a cast album. Asap.
Also people were incredibly rude at the stage door. People were blocking Jake from getting in his car, some lady kept screaming at him and stood in between him and his care until she got a picture. If this is typical behavior I'd rather he not stage door, for his own safety.

Not being a huge Sondheim fan - and literally being completely spontaneous and buying a ticket to see this a few weeks ago, I'm really sad to hear they might not record (or film this) production to preserve it in some form. I've looked online at some of the clips from other productions and doubt I would've appreciated it, or been as moved as I was by this company - particularly Jake and Annaleigh. Her Children and Art - and their "Move on" was incredibly moving. Hopefully this is just a tactic to make sure it does completely sell out at top price and then they'll announce a recording.
As for the stage door... honestly, I really don't get it. You loved their performance? Let them know inside the theatre at the bows. And then let them get home so they can crash and come back to do it again
Saw this a few weeks ago and I'm dying to see it again. I don't usually see a show more than once unless I take a different person, but I am trying to figure out how to afford tickets to go again. I feel like the way in which I compare and evaluate my theater experiences has been changed. This show is the new standard for all other shows to live up to for me. I am dying for a recording, and wondering if there is anything we can do to convince them to make one.

Wow! Where was security? When I did stage door earlier this week, Jake must have had at least 3 security guards around him who even made a human chain to escort him to his car.
As far as cast recording goes, I really hope they have one too and looking back I wish someone had asked the question to Jenni Barber during her interview:
I didn't know Jenni Barber played Dot/Marie last fall up in Boston and is the understudy for Annaleigh!

I'm with you. I'm in the city the week after it closes. I got a reply from their official twitter account saying it would not extend but who knows...keeping my fingers crossed

Not to be negative here... but I think if it's even a remote possibility, they wouldn't have opted out of the Tony Nominations. They must have a firm schedule set for Jake. BTW - has this been answered already - why the week off?
Jake had about 2 security guards, but the crowd had about 30-40 people, so they couldn't hold everyone back. It was such a shame, I don't think anybody deserves that kind of harassment.
I don't know why everyone's so curious about it, people have been asking ever since it was announced. Jake has a new movie coming out in two weeks so I'd just assume it's for press. Or maybe not. It really doesn't matter.
