furthermore is a packed category this year of very talented ladies. tony voters take into account many factors, not just who did or is doing the best performance (which can be subjective). everyone might be in for a surprise...

if you can, get to the mezzanine. you can get discounted tickets the day of the performance. unless you don't want to take chances. But normally the day of the performance must shows must platforms sell the tickets they haven't sold at a discount.

and don't forget, they haven't announced yet the nominations. but there are many talented ladies and great performances in this category. is not only Audra and Nicole. also voters could be divided, and they could cancel each other out, and someone else win. anything can happen.

Why is it now when someone doesn't like a show/performer they need to talk about it ad nauseam?

you are welcome! but i don't "spew". i simply give my opinion. you don't have to like it or agree. that's perfectly fine. have a great day!

This. The same four people interjecting in every SUNSET-related thread to remind everyone how much they hate it.
The way Nicole Scherzinger is living rent free in some of your heads.
Good lord, the way people feel the need to ceaselessly harp on and whine about a show they personally didn't like is exhausting. There are plenty of shows I don't like that others did. I'm not going to waste my time and energy constantly b*tching about those shows and trying to undermine the opinions and thoughts of those who did enjoy them.
Based on social media, it seems last night was Diego Andres Rodriguez' last performance. Do we know who is taking on Artie for the rest of the run?
It's weird that people in this thread are so touchy about the subject (note when someone joked Nicole should win the Tony because of the assault on an audience member at Gypsy, no one got into a hissyfit about "trolling" Audra fans). Some people liked one actress better than the other. And there are people like me who think Audra will win but that is isn't because she's giving the superior performance (to me the analogy of "apples and orages" is no more apt than it is here). The subject is going to continue to be discussed at least as long as both women are performing in the respective shows, so people should probably get used to it. I'm pretty sure everyone can live a happy and well-adjusted life while also coming aross a post favoring the actress they aren't rooting for.

Per his IG, Brandon LaVar will be the regular Artie.

Does this also make him the first cover for Joe?

No. Pierre Marais is covering Joe in addition to Max. And another new update is that Emma Lloyd is covering Betty in addition to Norma.

So Jimin Moon, who was already the other Joe understudy besides Rodriguez, doesn't get to be the first cover?

Heard he's not good - can't sing it or act it! He's primarily a dancer.
Jimin was only the first cover during previews, I believe, but was bumped to second once Diego had time to properly learn the role. It’s also easier to now have Pierre learn one new understudy track than have Brandon learn a new principal and understudy track.

Yea Pierre is a much stronger singer/actor so this is the right choice, in my opinion.

Brandon doesn't have to learn a new principal track. He's been doing Artie for a long time (I saw him in November when Diego was on as Joe when Tom was out.)
(Not that I think he should be the Joe understudy. Not sure if this is the kind of thing I'm not supposed to say, but I think he's too short--trying to picture him doing the lift where Norma straddles Joe and they start making out, and can't. But I can't really picture Marais, whose "weird hunchback in ill-fitting clothes" version of Max I was not a fan of, doing that either.)

I had the thrilling experience of seeing Nicole Scherzinger in SUNSET BOULEVARD last night. She and the entire production blew me away. I LOVED meeting Nicole, Tom Francis and many members of the ensemble backstage afterwards. Nicole and I really bonded over our love for Norma Desmond, arguably THE greatest role ever written for a woman. You can't approach Norma with a faint heart. She tests your metal, demands that you dig deep. Nicole's performance is an act of raw artistry and astounding bravery. Bravo Nicole, Tom and all those who gifted me with an extraordinary theater experience. Dearest love and profound thanks to you all. Glenn

That was me and I CLEARLY was making it a joke as I said I couldn't resist posting it. Hence no one other than you it seems had a "hissyfit" about the post. In this thread the issue is the Audra Stans are not joking.
Is Glenn trying to dethrone Rose and put Norma as the ‘greatest ever’ role in popular narrative??? Glenn stop trying to make fetch happen!!!

Available for pre-order: SUNSET BLVD: The Album (Nicole Sherzinger Edition). Shipping this summer.
$80, three red LPs, all new packing/imagery focused on…Nicole Sherzinger.
A bit overkill if you ask me (this entire production is already the “Nicole Sherzinger edition”) but if Taylor Swift and Charli XCX can have dozens of vinyl variants, why not. Would have been better if timed with the upcoming cast album signing.
