The subject is going to continue to be discussed at least as long as both women are performing in the respective shows, so people should probably get used to it. So this was your hissyfit instead? The funny thing is that I'm certain you count me among the "Audra Stans," so I don't really trust your interpretation of things.
Betting on this winning Revival and Actress, and got my ticket to see the first post-Tonys performance on June 10th.

I made a comment that you were the only one who had an issue with. Now you are trying to make something more out of it.
I don't really count you as anything. I have never paid attention to your posts and I really don't care if you are a "stan" or not. As far as you not trusting my interpretation of things? Again that doesn't bother me.
And if you want to continue this, please take it private as this has nothing to do with what this thread is about and it gets tiresome for others to have to weed through such trivial things like this.

You "don't count me as anything" and "have never paid attention to your posts" but you keep replying, each hissyfit hissier than the last.
No one cares.

You're BOTH really getting annoying. Wanna take it private?

I predict a win for Director Lloyd as well! Yes, Revival & Nicole for the WIN!

As I requested before the diatribe became even more ridiculous.

Odd you'd want a private conversation with someone you "don't count as anything" and "have never paid attention to." Nor do I see such a request.

WOW that will be amazing. Nicole's "With One Look", "As if I'd Never Said Goodbye" and the final lines "I can't continue...I'm sooo happy" will be so amazing and chilling at that performance I AM JEALOUS.
Just got back from today's matinee. Nicole was firing on all cylinders this afternoon (even more so than usual). Out of the several times I've seen this, today was the best I've heard her sound on "As If We Never Said Goodbye" - she really just hit it out of the park. This is truly one of my favorite productions I've seen in quite some time, and I will definitely miss it when it closes in a few months.
A bit of a random question / deep cut.
I was just listening to the new West End recording and clocked that in “This Time Next Year,” the lyrics “you’ve gotta say your New Year’s resolution out loud” are cut.
Since they were always in this current Broadway mounting (and they’re in tact in the OBC recording), was the line cut in the West End and then reinstated on Broadway?

That seems to happen a lot, particularly with ALW's shows. There are cuts, alterations, in previews, during the run itself, sometimes even near the end of the run. I remember seeing The Woman in White three times and every one of them had changes (far more dramatic than the one you're mentioning here, in that case where the whole finale was changed) even a month out before it was closing.
The only alteration to this new recording that bothers me is cutting the reprise of "we don't need a crowded ballroom" that Norma sings at the end of "the Perfect Year". I happened to see a boot somewhere (!) where Nicole sang it, and I can see why dramatically they might have done it, but musically it feels too abrupt and Nicole so nailed it that it seems a shame that they did that.
Speaking of "The Perfect Year" - since Nicole and Tom are both nominated for Best Actress/Actors in this years Tony's - maybe they would perform that on the telecast instead of With One Look or As If We Never Said Goodbye?

I’d be surprised if they aren’t planning a medley that includes Tom doing the title song with an outside walk and then into the auditorium and up onto the stage.

They give each show such a ridiculous short time I don't know if a medley would be possible. And as much as I'd love to see Tom do that, I'd imagine they want to do something different from the Olivier's - that's why I thought The Perfect Year might be, well, perfect :)
Saw Redwood recently. I wasn’t a fan of the show, but Idina was in great voice and it made me think… would/could she replace in Sunset? She’s got the comedic chops for it and the voice. I don’t think we’ve seen her go as dark as Act II requires, but could be interesting!

No.
I would love to see Idina in the role (or Heather Hadley or I'm sure there is SOMEONE who can do this besides Nicole we just haven't found them yet). There is 0 chance of it happening though I'd say, I don't think Idina would want to follow Nicole's performance and likely Tony because more likely than not it could just open her to less favourable comparisons...plus she is probably feeling a bit raw from the failure of Redwood. But I do love the story of it......kind of like when Jeremy Jordan closed in Bonnie and Clyde and then opened a few months later in Newsies that never would have happened had Bonnie and Clyde stayed open.
Tiny Desk Concert with Nicole and Tom releases tomorrow.
